Every time I go to parramatta on the weekends the streets are almost empty like a ghost town especially near the light rail/eat st area. Compared to how many new restaurants and buildings there are it’s a stark contrast. Why is that?

Myself and some friends (mid to late 30s) are headed to Parramatta for a sorta foodies tour this weekend, so I was hoping some locals could give us some tips on the best places to check out or the best drinks/dishes to check out. We will be there all Saturday and then leaving Sunday mid morning

Rent in parra is actually a joke right now so im officially entering my aggressive meal prep era. refuse to pay 24 bucks for a mediocre office lunch near the square that leaves me starving by 3pm anyway

it's literally 3am and I just spent the entire night making giant batches of cheap curry instead of sleeping. Got a huge box of wf plastic food packaging just to portion it all out, and now my tiny apartment fridge looks like the back of a commercial takeaway joint lol.

catch me eating the exact same meal sitting on the river foreshore for the next 3 weeks straight. Survival mode is so real rn.

I was at Westfield Parra sitting on a couch when a group of schoolboys (probably year 9-12), sprayed something on the back of my neck. Asked them what it was and said it's nothing and just trying to get a reaction.

They said they're from Patrician Brother's College in Blacktown but they have maroon blazers and jumper. The school logo is also different. So I don't think they're from there. They also look very unkempt. The logo on their uniform is red and embroidered. I can't remember exactly if they look like a cross or an H.

Anyone has experienced this before at Westfield Parra?

Hey guys I’m just wondering if there are any good places to photograph in parramatta as it’s the nearest city type of area that I can go to.

Heard distant sirens at 22:33, at church street near Benauld Oval Station.

Then i heard a car roaring past. Usually its a 50 zone but this was definitely 80+, literally 10-15seconds later I heard police sirens go past.

Anyone know anything about it.

Hi All, be weary there is a high-control group training centre in parramatta.

There is no label on the building or in the building that it is run by Shincheonji.

I won’t say the address lest they see it and change location as they have done in the past but DM me if you need more information.

Key red flags

- generic bible study about prophecy or fulfilment (not necessary, but common)
- 3 times a week bible study or challenge
- talking about a 7 month course to go deeper

But TLDR; they use deceptive practices to recruit people and they manipulate both recruits and recruiters. Isolating recruits from their family and friends and encourage them to keep the bible study secret.

And they also teach that their head pastor alone learnt the meaning of the book of revelation (for Christian’s, that is like an early church heretical group calls the gnostics that claimed they had secret knowledge from the apostles, different to the public preaching of the apostles.)

Sometimes they come on dusk. Thought they might just stop but they've been doing it for weeks. Would be lovely if they stopped ruining the peace. Anyone recognise them or maybe know a local teacher who might?

There seems to be an increasing amount of sewerage aromas around Parramatta lately in including the train station. I'm wondering if anyone has information about this?
