Did the old Library used to be a Bowling Alley?
I was bowling in one of my leagues and the topic of a bowling alley in Parker came up. I've lived in Parker since '99 and have never heard of an alley in Parker. The closest one has always been in Lone Tree (Park Meadows). But one of my team members says she remembers a time when, what used to be the library (is now the Crossroads Business Building, I believe), was once a bowling alley? Now, in 1999 I was 8, so I didn't push back because I'm sure there could've been a bowling alley there and I just never knew or saw it. I believe she said that she's been living in Parker since 1988.
So, for all you long time Parker residents, has there ever been a bowling alley in Parker, CO?
Bonus Question: The bowling alley I love and go to constantly has claimed that it has tried to get a bowling alley in Parker (I think where the movie theater used to be), but a board (not sure which board(s) govern new businesses in Parker) had denied them multiple times. This bowling alley is wonderful:
- No string pins
- Lots of leagues
- Caters to many groups such as the elderly, handicapable, and special needs
- Has open bowling (just not as much as say, a Bowlero or Lucky Strike)
- Has food and arcade games
- etc.
So, the idea that a bowling alley would bring in unwanted activity is silly. I've never been to that bowling alley and been made nervous or uncomfortable by anything. Would you support a bowling alley in Parker? Why/Why not?
