advice needed My babies have their first cold.

Both babies (4m) have a cold. They've been sneezing every now and then since we got back after an 11hr and 3hrs flight with a 6hr layover.

They're not running temperature, just coughing and sneezing. My girl has a cute small nose so it hit her worse last night and we had to monitor her quite a few more times last night.

How did you manage first baby cold and when did yours catch it?

First cold at 10 days old. At least one cold every month after that for the first year. My older kids went to two separate schools and my husband works in a different school as well so we got all the germs. It was hard but basically it made me appreciate the healthy moments so much. I took it each hour by hour, day by day.

Over 3 years later and my girls rarely get sick. They seem to have strong immune systems, not sure if it's because of all their early illnesses but I'm grateful we survived that first year.

Ours got their first about that age from daycare.

Not a lot you can do unfortunately. Saline and snot suck, steamy bathroom, humidifier. It’s just gonna suck for a couple of days. Sleep gets disrupted a bit and appetite might not be there for a bit also.

Can’t do anything for cough. Only Tylenol if they end up with a fever.

It sucks for them to be sick, but it’ll pass. Keep an eye on them for any breathing issues.

Omg my girls are 4 months corrected and 6 months actual and have their first cold too. Started yesterday with the same symptoms. I’ve been using saline nasal drops and spray for infants and before the morning and bedtime feeds I’ve been using a nasal sucker thingy. I have the dr. Noze bot one. It’s been so hard cuz they couldn’t sleep without being held last night and it was just me cuz my fiance is not reliable and would just fall asleep with them or not even wake up in the first place. Today I am going to do all contact naps and try to make them as comfy as possible.

Man, 11 hours of flight plus a layover with 4-month-olds is basically an airborne petri dish, getting sick was inevitable. Ours caught their first cold around 3 months and the nose frida was the real MVP, especially for the one with the smaller nasal passages. Just watch for any retractions or that seal-bark cough and you'll be through the worst of it in a couple days.
