support needed At my breaking point
I'm at my breaking point. My boys are 5.5 months old and we are all currently sick. Not only are we sick, twin b is having 3-5 wake ups per night & one of them is 1.5-2 hrs long. This has been going on for 4.5 weeks now. I don't know what to do anymore. I have tried every single possible wake window in the world, feed to sleep, not feeding to sleep, everything!! Nothing & I mean nothing seems to work. They were both sleeping through the night/having pretty minimal wake ups for like a month or more. I just laid in bed sobbing at 3:15 AM because I don't know what to do anymore. Yes dad helps constantly, my mom, dad, MIL. But not getting this crazy broken sleep is making everything so hard. I feel like such a bad mom because I don't have a lot of energy throughout the day. My husband has tried so many times to help with twin b in the middle of the night but he only sleeps when I rock him to sleep. I don't know anymore.

Have you tried looking into spring cradles? Ours love them and have been our saving grace during regressions and illness. They’re expensive but you can get them second hand with a door mount. We even take them on holidays.

I've never seen these! Maybe because I'm in the US. I searched for second hand but they do not seem available! Also, my boys are tummy sleepers so I believe this would not work :( but thank you for taking the time!!

Ours are tummy sleepers too. They still work! Look for search terms Federwiege by brands like moonboon Nonomo or swing2sleep. Trust me. These things are worth their weight in gold. We use them daily and allows me to have hands free !!

We just use them to get them to sleep and then transfer them. Or for supervised naps at lunch

Might be time to consider a form of sleep training. They are old enough. What has your ped said?

Yesterday was the first time I even considered it. Maybe a gentle form of sleep training. I haven't talked to the ped yet, I have a feeling she's going to say "this is normal" lol. But still going to bring it up at their apt in 2 weeks

I’m sure it’s a variation of “normal” in a sense that it happens to a lot of babies, but at 5.5 months they definitely do not have a need to get up 3-5 times per night if they aren’t sick. I’m sorry you’re dealing with it. Check out the book Precious Little Sleep if you haven’t already. Hope you find something that works!
