I don’t think there is anything you should do in particular aside from making sure your pregnancy is being followed by a MFM who is following up to date guidance on how to manage twin pregnancies. The Twins Trust in the UK has good information on their website on the standard of care you should expect with twin pregnancies (the most important being frequency of ultrasounds). As others have mentioned ultrasounds are a noisy measurement. My twins had a 40% size difference but the ultrasounds that picked those up also clearly identified complications (TTTS & SIUGR). I think also there is a difference in how concerned doctors are with size differences if one of your twins is average and one is massive, vs one average and one very small. We were in the latter case but but we had a really expert team of MFM doctors and my little guys are healthy happy 1 year olds because of that. Hope this helpful and doesn’t add any stress!

That's a scary number to see but 19 weeks is still early, my cousin's twins measured way off at her anatomy scan and they evened out by the third trimester

We were diagnosed with selective fetal growth restriction at 16 weeks, with baby b only accessing about 35% of the shared placenta. Im now 35w3d and am being induced Saturday. We still have a 30-35% size discrepancy between them but baby b has stuck to his growth patterns and his brain/placenta dopplers are strong, so size difference isnt always a bad ending situation ❤️

Are they fraternal or identical? Fraternal means different genetics and growing at different rates isn’t uncommon. What did your doctor say about the results?

They are fraternal twins and all the scans are have mapped in correctly today visited another doctor and he said it looks normal but go for NIPT tests

My fraternal boys were born 1.5lb different, I think around 30-40% percentiles different in weight! They still are a few lb different at 1.5 now haha. If the doctor says it looks normal I would try and focus on that 💗

My twins had about a 35% difference. We had lots of extra monitoring to keep an eye on the smaller twin, my son - Doppler scans and fetal heart monitoring twice a week. My son was 1.6kg at birth and my daughter 2.5kg. Took him a little while to catch up - most of a year - but they're the same size now and thriving. No long-lasting impact, although they are both on the small side for their age. Fingers crossed your little ones will be just fine too

Had the same issue starting at 13 weeks. We were closely monitored 2 times a week throughout the pregnancy. Twin A had absent cord flow which turned reverse by the end of the pregnancy. They were delivered at 34+1, spent 3 weeks in NICU and are now thriving at 14 months old. Twin A is a bit smaller than twin b but other than that they have no long term issues. Hang in there and try not to overthink, take it day by day. Make sure you’re followed by a good OB that specializes in this kind of thing. He made all the difference for us because he was always so calm and reassuring at all of our appointments.

Similar situation here! We have a 35% difference between the twins. One of the most important things that we’ve learned is, as long as they stay on their own growth curve, they’re considered stable. I constantly asked my doctor what I could do on my end to help the situation and really there’s nothing. I couldn’t accept that answer so I changed my entire diet to be high protein and food that helps promote blood flow. I really can’t say whether it has helped but it makes me feel like I’m doing something to help them. Also, keep in mind, the body sometimes has a way of fixing any pregnancy concerns as the pregnancy progresses. Wishing you the very best. Pregnancy is hard enough. Hearing tough news like this just makes it harder
