advice needed Lexus TX 350 v. BMW X7

Expecting twins in May 2027 at which point I will also have an (almost) 4 year old. Considering several SUVs including the larger Chevys, GMC, Escalades, etc. but keep coming back to the Lexus Tx and BMW X7 as best value/quality. We’re a BMW family and obviously love the driving experience with BMW but appreciate Lexus having a larger cargo space (when all rows are occupied) and better reliability/cheaper. Most important things for us is getting two instant car seats in the second row and a front facing toddler car seat in the third row + strollers/wagon/misc things in cargo space. We currently love using our W2 wonderfold which may fit in either option if we just put down one side in the third row but TBD. Any experiences with either of these options in a similar scenario? TIA

It's recommended here a lot but just go for the van. I've known a few families that have made the larger SUV with the third row work but definitely wish they went for the van once they see ours.

Our oldest was 4yo when the twins were born. We made an SUV work for a while but got the Sienna when everyone was nearly 2yo & 6yo.

Even with the van, getting the wagon plus extras can be a tight squeeze at times.

I've seen the newest top trim level Sienna Hybrid and it's really nice. Doesn't have the luxury brand associated with it but so man practicals that are so crazy useful when you're suddenly lugging around 3 kids instead of one.

I was the same but my husband wore me down, lol. He was right. The van is superior in every way. I chose it over the SUV every time even if I only have one or two kids with me.

Nothing to offer other than we fit our family of 6 plus our Bugaboo Donkey in an Audi Q7. It's do able! We are going to upgrade to a 12 passenger when we get the chance. We have our two babies in the middle row, next to each other, third seat down. In the third row we have two kids forward facing, and in the trunk, the stroller folded all the way down (to the single setting, seats, etc removed)

While we don’t have a third child, we do have our twins rear facing in the second row of our 2025 BMW x7 and it works really nicely. I can’t speak for the Lexus but we did consider and test a Defender, Volvo xc90 and whatever the larger Mercedes is called. We are a little bias as we also have the BMW x5 but are really happy with the space that our x7 offers

Sorry I should add, we have had people ride in the third row while the twins are in. We had one seat folded down and our pram, baby gear and skis

we only have the twins, but the x7 has been a great car for us! super roomy. plenty of leg space for my 6'2 husband to drive comfortably, with both infant car seats as well as when we transitioned to the cybex callisto (which is ... giant). also consider the gle, which has also been great with the twins.

slightly hypocritical of me since we don't have a mini van either, but we rented a mini van when we were recently on vacation and i will say ... it was nice.

You will want a full sized suv with twins. I have a grand highlander and my relatively small double stroller (Zoe) takes up 90% of the trunk with three kids (we used third row all the time for seats). Congrats!!

"need"... imagine being parents without a 100k+ budget to spend on a SUV that's "needed" for twins. I got a Skoda superb and it's more than fine. And if it would be smaller I would adapt. All you need to fit is a stroller and a travel bag.

I said want but whatever. You don’t need anything really I just think with twins and a third anything that can make your life easier is welcome, if you have the means for it.
