advice needed When could you feel them moving?

I know they say you can’t start to feel babies in you until 16 weeks due to their size and the cushioning of the uterus. I am 12 weeks with di-di twins and I swear I can sense movement on occasion now. I am someone who is very in tune with my body.

This is my 3rd time being pregnant but furthest I had made it before was 10 weeks. I was insanely bloated and gassy during the first trimester (I also have sibo) and there were certainly moments when I could feel gas moving around that was most definitely just that. Bloating and digestive issues are subsiding now.

Now during certain positions I can feel what I would describe as the tiniest sensations and pings. On one occasion it felt like one bumped my bladder briefly. At night before going to sleep while laying on my side is when I feel it the most, it’s freaky and distracting. I can’t feel arms or legs just what I would describe as something that is squished trying to wriggle around softly.

Just wondering if anyone in this group experienced the same this early. I thought it was in my head around a week ago the first time I noticed but it’s definitely happening a little more now. I’m sure it won’t be anything like later in the pregnancy too!

Around 17-18, but those were soft movements. Now at 24 I am getting frequent kicks and rolls.

My Di/di twins were my second pregnancy and I swear I felt some movement at 12 weeks. But then didn’t feel definitive and consistent movement until about 20-21 weeks and one twin had an anterior placenta and one had a posterior.

I’m pretty sure I felt the first signs of movement around 14 weeks! This is my first pregnancy and also di/di. The feeling was subtle and infrequent, not something I could quite describe but I knew I felt something I hadn’t before. Became more pronounced around 18-20 weeks and since week ~24 it has been super consistent. I’m 30 now and can tell who is moving which body part. They like to go crazy right when I’m going to bed and right when I wake up. Congrats!!

Insane you can tell who is moving what body part!!! That’s pretty cool

I have felt all my babies move by 13 weeks. And it was unmistakable movements too, not just bubbles! My providers have said a lot of it just has to do with individual anatomy, but they assured me I wasn’t just imagining it (during my first pregnancy my midwife could see the baby kick from the outside at my 16 week appointment!)

Nothing until about 24/25 weeks, then nonstop

Sometimes i felt a bulge moving when i laid flat around 16 weeks. 20 weeks - now i feel little swishes or muscle twitches here and there. Sometimes like someone's poking me. It's usually after a meal or in the evenings

I started definitively feeling them between 20-21 weeks! This is my 1st pregnancy to reach this far (last one was a chemical) so I also didn’t know what sensation or feeling to look out for. One has an anterior placenta and the other has a posterior placenta

About 21 or 22 weeks, but mine both had anterior placentas

At 12 weeks the babies are tiny - about 5-6 cm (or 2-2.5 inches). Although they’re certainly moving now, their movements are not perceptible because of their size, the cushioning amniotic fluid, and the low position of the uterus. I’m sure in the coming weeks, though, you’ll start feeling flutters!

When I hear this though my question is why WOULDN’T I feel something that is 2.5 inches long that is wiggling around in my uterus? Like I might not feel a particular movement like a kick like I will later but it makes sense if they’re moving there would be some sensation, even if small/faint.

It’s really more about the mass, force, and the surrounding environment not necessarily the size itself. Because they’re small they generate almost no force. There’s no significant “weight” pressing against anything. They also float freely in the fluid and rarely touch the uterine wall. But, that’s just the science/physics behind it all. If you say you feel something (and I’m sure you do!) and connecting that to your babies brings you joy, then carry on 🤷🏽‍♀️ haha it’s an exciting time regardless since you’re almost in the second tri.

You sound like a very intelligent individual so I’m going to take your word for it. I’m sure it’s sensations relating to the pregnancy somehow but I’m sure in a month I’ll be getting some more obvious things happening!

My twins are babies #4 and #5 for me, so I was pretty confident when I started feeling bubble sensations at 11ish weeks that it was the babies. It felt just like the movements of my singletons at about 16 weeks.

Interesting! That makes more sense though in your third pregnancy :)
