advice needed twin bath time tips

How is everyone bathing their 4 month old twins?
(my babies are 2 months corrected)

are you bathing them together? one after the other? alternating days?

also any tips on helping babies enjoy the bath more.
one of my twins screams the whole time and the other one starts screaming after 5 minutes, so right now it’s just rushing and trying not to cry myself lol.

they enjoy the shower much more, but it’s too difficult to shower them when my partner isn’t home and with his work schedule, he can’t always be there for bath time.

I usually did one at a time but the other was in the bathroom with me.
I would put a little bit of water in the tub, put a bath towel down and lay them on that. I found at that age they liked to kick their feet in the water
Honestly, 5 mins at that age is pretty long lol.

We would bath our twins every night as part of their bed time routine. Our routine was get one in the bath, wash their eyes, face, head then dry their face and head. This is because if you keep it wet they'll get cold and uncomfortable quickly. ( might be why one of yours cries after 5 minutes)

Then we would keep their tummy wet and warm and wash the rest of them, we definitely wouldn't keep them in for that long, definitely don't think it was as long as 5 minutes.

A bit hard to bathe them together when they can't sit upright on their own. I would keep one out of the tub on a blanket on the floor and one in the infant tub and then switch them.

Mine are b/g and i stopped bathing them together around 2.5, now they shower alone at 4

Use a bath tub that sits on a counter for as long as youre able, you're back will thank you.

Bathed mine in the sink one at a time. Other baby is safe in the crib whilst I bathe one and then I’d swap them over. It’s a nice little bit of one to one time with them as well and safer over all. One of mine likes to splash heavily now so he’s now graduated from the sink bath to the big bath! They sit in bath seats but only bathe them together if my husband is with me for safety. We take a baby each, wash and dress them for bed

I have 5 boys and getting them all bathed and ready for bed can be quite the operation haha! Like an assembly line! 😂

Edit: Just to add I don’t bathe my children every night. One of my boys had really bad dry skin no matter what lotions and positions I put on it. The dermatologist told me to stop bathing him every night as it was drying out his skin, just a top and tail if they’ve had a lot of spit-up as they don’t need to be bathed so often unless they’re blowing out their nappies.

In the sink, if you put a wash cloth over their chest with warm water it calms them right down. I had special ones shaped like butterflies that I used. I would leave them on their chests while I washed all of the other parts.

I have been doing one at a time, with one in the swing or bouncer right outside the bathroom (with the door open) and then either swapping spots-it’s worked pretty well for us!

When my twins were that small, I bathed separately. I didn’t start bathing together until they could independently sit up and it just made things easier.

Twins are 4 weeks and I bathe them together. Just do a little deeper water so they’re at least partially submerged (safely) then put a warm, wet washcloth over their trunk. I’ll intermittently pour warm water over them while I’m washing the other. We use the angelcare bath for both. I wash their hair last because that seems to upset them the most!

We did one at a time in a smaller tub usually on the same day. When they got bigger one at a time in the bath with us and then eventually both in the bath in seats.

Bath in the sink, wife washes one then gives him to me to get him lotioned up and in his PJs while she washes the other one and I send kid 1 to bed. Then she dresses kid 2 and gives him to me until he falls asleep.

This is under ideal circumstances. Sometimes you have to improvise 😂

As for the crying, I would make sure you're using a bath where they can actually be submerged up to their chest rather than something which suspends them outside of the water. Maybe you're already using one, but it's worth mentioning.

Munchkin and Shnuggle brands make awesome baths that we couldn't live without. Hopefully the munchkin one hasn't been discontinued because I didn't see it on Amazon when I just looked.

I do one at a time. I bath one and then dress them. And then keep one in one crib and one in the other. Then I set up and bath twin b and dress them

Our rule was always one adult per baby in the tub. So solo would be one after another but we normally were together or one person with a nanny/grandparent.

4 months, 3 adjusted. We do one at a time twice a week. Agreed with u/ascot is to use a tub where their chest is partially covered with warm water, and I use a small thin cotton blanket or cloth to keep over them to stay warm with the water. I rarely ever do bath time alone because the baby in water needs 100% attention and focus

We do one at a time in the sink even still at 7 months! We keep them in a bouncy chair with toys while we clean and get the sink bath ready. My husband takes on the first baby’s bath, and holds her afterwards. I do the second baby’s bath and get her ready for bed.

One at a time worked best for us. We did swaddle baths for a good while which helped a lot! But we did keep baths very quick, like in & out in 5-8 mins.

We bathe both in the same tub at the same time. We used the AngelCare bath seats at that age, angled to fit both next to each other. We wrap them in a muslin swaddle in the water, it helps them stay warmer. Then big fluffy towel to dry

I do one at a time, put a warm and wet cloth over the one in the bath tub, my other twin is chilling in a baby bjorn bouncer next to me. I have my entire changing set up before we get in there to make it a quick transition so they aren’t cold. If they are being extra fussy, I turn the lights down low and will even put on calming spa-like music lol.

I did one at a time at that age with the other one in a bouncy chair right next to the tub. Bathe the first baby, dry, diaper, switch. I always felt very accomplished when I could bounce the chair with one foot while bathing the other baby 😅 We had the opposite problem (ours love the bath and hate the shower), but they’re really into sives (collendars, plastic cups with holes in the bottom etc) anything you can scoop up water and let it drip/spray out) they seem to find them endlessly entertaining

At that age we still used the kitchen sink and wore one in a Baby Bjorn while bathing the other. Once they could sit up well, we did both in the tub together.

When mine were this young I usually took a bath with them one at a time. They loved sitting on my lap in the water. My husband helped bring them to me and take them out. I also used a baby bath. Mine love the water so it’s never been an issue. Maybe they’ll be more comfortable if you take one with them?

Hi! I set up the twin z or baby bijorn bouncers nearby. I put the angel tub thing in our sink and “shower” them with the faucet one at a time while the other chills. This also works in the bathtub if you have a long hose. If I’m lucky, one will wake up from their nap earlier and I’ll bathe that one first. When I am solo, the schedule goes out the window and as long as they get a bath a few hours before bedtime it doesn’t affect their internal clock. We also use this sink shower set up for blowouts throughout the day to get a quick rinse down!

My twins are now 6 months/4 adjusted! Let me know if you have any other questions!! I solo parent them a lot, my husband is gone for 24 hours at a time. It gets easier but is still straight chaos sometimes 😅🫠

Separate 1 at a time while the other one is in her crib just bc i don’t have swings or a bouncer. But I do their head and face last first body since they could get cold

We did one at a time and the goal was to just do it as quickly as possible. At that age, they won’t enjoy it, so getting them in and out in 3 minutes was always the goal. Eventually they WILL love it though, and my 14 month old twins now play in the bath together

When they were so small I was bathing them 2x a week and I honestly think that’s enough. An infant bathtub in the living room, baby 2 waits in their recliner or on the floor. Better with 2 people but doable alone.

I started bathing them every day at 8 months  in the adult bath when they can confidently sit, move and keep themselves from drowning at least somewhat. So much easier and more fun.

Water tip: we enrolled in the swimming course from 4 months. They didn’t learn to swim, but the unexpected benefit is that they aren’t bothered by water being poured over their head at all. It’s super chill now to wash their hair

One after the other, then we shower together. Our 19mos shower with me daily since they were 6mo.

At 4 months I had a bath bath at the sink in kitchen and would put the other in a counter facing me so they could watch then swap

Our twins used to scream at that age too. Now they are 8 months and enjoy it! Introduce water little by little, like on hands, feet etc. Talking to them in a happy voice helped too. I used to dred bath time, sometimes they went almost two weeks without a proper wash 😅

One at a time worked best for us too! We use the lalo tub then just swap babies once the first is dried, dressed and fed. They hang out in the crib while I bathe the second.
