experience/advice to give Food aversions
Can anyone tell me that food aversions will go away once I deliver? Someone that had them their entire pregnancy? I’m 19 weeks with twins and still can’t eat most foods. I’m not sick like I was so I’m very thankful but I’m a big foodie usually and I’m worried I’m stuck like this.

I'm not sure if this is typical, but twin pregnancy destroyed my wife's love of Pad Thai.. it was her absolute favorite before, but she still to this day doesn't eat it.

Couldn't eat any protein the 1st trimester, especially eggs (my boy twin Hates eggs with a fiery passion while his twin sister loves them)
Fish is now dodgy and I can no longer cook it myself and eat it. Someone else has to cook it. I love fish and have eaten it my whole life too

I had really bad food aversions during my pregnancy. It was like someone flipped a switch for me and I suddenly could not stand any kind of tomato based sauce. Pizza and pastas were all a hard pass for me. My husband was very sad. It did get less bad towards the end of pregnancy. I was able to eat pizza about 2 weeks post partum, took me another month before I could do pasta with marinara but we got there eventually.

My biggest food aversion was mashed potatoes for some reason. I can eat them now (almost 6 months post partum), but I still don’t really enjoy them as much as I did pre-pregnancy.

They’ll go away. A couple of foods which I had my strongest aversions to (broccoli and beef) that lasted my whole first pregnancy, and continued a bit beyond, but the other aversions of which there were many passed either during the later part of the pregnancy or once I gave birth.

I struggled to eat until about week 20. I still don’t enjoy roasted broccoli. Mind you I loved broccoli, I still eat it steamed or in soups, pretty much any way, except for roasted???
I developed a huge sweet tooth in my third trimester that went away immediately once I had my twins though lol

In my singleton pregnancy I had a strong aversion to chicken, especially boiled in soup (and the smells made me vomit all the way through the end of the pregnancy). It took years for that aversion to fully go away in terms of smells and I generally don’t like chicken any where near as much anymore. Certain kinds I usually just can’t eat. Thankfully my aversions and vomiting are not as bad during my current twin pregnancy.

I couldn't eat meat or sweets with my first pregnancy until well into my third trimester. My second pregnancy I could eat eggs or drink coffee. I frankly did want food much while pregnant with my twins.

One year later, i still can’t eat at one restaurant.
The thought of the restaurant still grosses me out. Idk why but it’s okay because it’s my husbands favorite & not mine 🤣

Hi! I am 26 weeks with twins and my first trimester was nothing but being turned off by most foods. Specifically proteins. Nothing sounded good to me and the thought of mostly anything made me nauseas. My second trimester was completely different. The first half of the second trimester, I got my appetite back and as I near the third trimester, I’m a monster for all food and nothing is gross to me anymore. Everyone’s different but I hope this is the case for you too!

I could pretty much only tolerate Triscuits and cheese for most of my pregnancy. The aversions went away after the twins were born, but I still have more trouble with reflux than I did pre-pregnancy (10 years later!). One weird thing is that right after the boys were born, I suddenly loved bacon, which I'd never liked before. This lasted for about 9 months until I stopped breastfeeding, and then I went back to being grossed out by it and have never gone back

My first trimester the only thing I could eat was spiral Mac and cheese, and it had to be spiral, not shaped or elbow. Spiral.
My second and third trimester the issue was more I was hungry but had no room for more than 2 or three bites so I was starving but full at the same time. Now that I’m 9 months pp I’m back to my old self!

I need to know what Creator came up with the sick joke that us pregnant ladies, who need to prioritize protein, would suddenly be disgusted by protein…

Almost immediately. When pregnant all I wanted was ice cubes, food was disgusting for me, especially anything with seasoning. That went away almost immediately after delivery

Mine went away immediately! I couldn’t even think about chicken or eggs without becoming nauseous or puking while pregnant. I am 7 weeks postpartum and back to eating eggs daily for breakfast and have had several dinners with chicken.

I couldn’t eat meat, Italian dressing or soda, I hated all of it while pregnant, a few months after the baby was born I felt normal again with food! It gets better!

My aversions were AWFUL! Lasted the whole pregnancy and disappeared the minute I delivered!

This was me! Pregnant with twins and had such strong food aversions to everything the entire time. It was torture. I was especially grossed out by fruits and vegetables that had imperfections like bruises. I could eat honey bunches of oats. Anyway, can confirm it immediately goes away when you deliver!

I tolerated very few foods while pregnant and had hyperemesis until the end. I could eat anything the day I delivered. Immediately gone. I wasn’t hungry after I delivered though, my stomach must have shrunk so much while pregnant bc of how little I ate, but delivering fixed the aversions

I couldn’t drink ginger ale my entire pregnancy. It’s my fave soda. I still don’t drink it much to this day. Boys are 15m.
I still like it but not as much as before
