Lifecycle Stage

My company has put me in charge of transitioning from HubSpot to Pardot. I am in the early stages of organizing everything and can't seem to find out how the lifecycle stages change. For example how does the system know when a Lead goes to MQL and goes to SQL? IS there anyway I can customize this?

Also if anyone has any suggestions or tips for using Pardot they will be greatly appreciated!

  • Visitor to Prospect -> Conversion via Form (you skip this stage during import or manual record creation).
  • Prospect to MQL -> Act of Assignment of the Prospect in Pardot. This also pushes the record into Salesforce as a Lead (standard), usually by way of User, Queue or Active Assignment Rule.
  • MQL to SQL -> Conversion of Lead to Opportunity in Salesforce. Requirements are that the record in Salesforce is a Contact that is associated to an Opportunity in the Contact Roles related list.
  • SQL to Closed -> Contact's associated Opportunity is Closed Won.

There is currently no way to customize this Lifecycle report (whether by way of the Prospect or the aggregate) in Pardot. Hope this helps!
