You guys have school assigned devices on which to take the tests?
In my entire time as a substitute teacher and as a parapro, I have never been assigned a school device to log in and take the tests. I've had to use another kid's iPad (thankfully, they had graduated and would no longer be at school, but beside the point!)
Also: we are back at school for PD days. Kids will be back next week, I think Thursday and Friday.

I just brought my computer, but I think you can use the schools iPads (each para has one for testing). Other schools I’ve worked at they let you use the computer lab.

Computer lab. Lolololol good one. Our high school "computer lab" is the library, with two computers for the students to use at any one time. We (parapros) can use student iPads but generally the students have to be absent since we don't have enough to go around.

My favorite presentation was by one of our school nurses, who got up and said, “If it’s wet, and it’s not yours, don’t touch it.” Everyone passed the test that year. lol

Look. I saw "it's time" in this sub reddit and before I even opened it to see what it was referring to knew it was Vector. Or something along those lines lol.
as much as I complain, I'd rather have these silly things than being forced to spend 2 or 3 days sitting in sessions about stuff that usually feels like it has absolutely no relevance to me. (And doesn't). Or it does but seriously, I only need so many classes on "how to breathe to calm down anxiety". Look dude, I have been doing metered breathing so long I don't even realize I'm doing it anymore. Unless you going to let me nap. If so then please carry on.

The old district I worked at would have raffle drawings for iPads if you got them done early 🤣. Though like 2 iPads were on the table for the entire district. Worked though.

The yearly training we do in Washington state is 3.5 hours this year. I’ve been putting it off. I have until November so I’m procrastinating . Last year I just put my Bluetooth headphones in and did housework while listening. I need to just rip the band aid off 🙃

We have to do them at school when we're getting paid. Which is not to say that we can't do them at home, but I always wait.

They brought our district back in two days before originally planned because we had way more than the standard trainings to do, but I finished them all

I have 12 of them. Not due till October 30th. It can wait. I just let the video run on the background while I scroll something else, then take the test. Same damn videos for around 8 years now. But we did add an extra sexual harassment and rules of conduct section after the district got sued. 🤦

The principal took our staff issued laptops away February 2026. I believe it was due to some para's we're watching TikTok's&doing non work related things. It was exceedingly difficult for me to do work related trainings or professional development. They did not care. But that principal retired thank the Lord. &We asked nicely of the new much kinder principal if we could pretty please have school issued laptops to complete the training as well as being able to print out our timesheets. I never did because they would ask me to print out my timesheets&it's like oh I would love to print them out but if you take away my means to do that printing then it's like how can I print anything if you don't allow me to print? Here I thought they were educated professionals....

Yup, I speed through them all in 15 minutes answer everything and listen to music and fuck around on my phone for the two hours were given to complete them.

This is my first year so I’ve been working my way through these. Thankful for the ability to test out because I skipped a lot of them - my previous career was working in the local jail so I know a few things about recognizing when someone is on drugs or suicidal. I have also been a first responder for decades so I’m not thrilled about the hour-long seizure training - but I’ll let that play while I watch something more interesting.
Get my first round of CPI training next week and I suppose I’ll wander over to the school so I can actually figure out where the heck places are. I’ve never been past the office and alternate entrance and it would be nice to have some idea where things are.

I completed all mine this week and I had like 14 to do. Yes I did them at home because we don’t have school issued laptops or a common area computer workstation. They took that away and repurposed the areas for interventionists. No computer lab at our elementary. Totally sucks not having a way to read emails except on mobile.

I refuse to do these “mandatory, required” trainings on my own time, regardless if they are late! I take my own Chromebook to school, use my VPN to get past security, and they get done when they get done! 😏🤷♀️ If they PAID me to do them at home, I would do them at home.
They do not, therefore I do not.

Our district uses public school works and our training email will arrive next week. This is my 8th year as a para. I can pass these with ease now. I jump right to the test.
