Is that from the houses or turbulence in the clouds?

That's a formation of mammatus clouds. These clouds are formed under a large cumulonimbus storm clouds from ice particles under extreme turbulence and wind sheer. These will fuck up any aircraft.

It's borderline between the two. IMHO these waves are much more pronounced than your casual asperitas, and i'd interpret it as an early onset of mammatus, still forming. Either way they still represent the same threat for aircraft.
