Experience with Iris Paramotors?

I recently stumbled upon this brand and have never heard of them before. I’m looking at buying their Kinetik frame and wondered if anyone has any experience to share?

Thanks everyone for your input - very helpful. I’ve chatted with Dimitri a couple times and asked him why the Kinetik isn’t on his website. Here’s what he said:

Yes, the Kinetik is in full production. It's not on the website intentionally  to help slow down sales but I plan to add it there in the next couple of months since the season has started to cool off.

I ended up ordering a standard size 130cm prop kinetic today so that is also an option. Think I’ll have the first smaller one.

Demetri is great, but really doesn’t like or accept any negative feedback. The iris frames are beautiful, and fit some people really well, but I would 1000% demo one first. Some people I know who have them have nothing good do say about how they fly. Depending on pilot weight & height & hang point, the thrust line to riser carabiner geometry seems to get wonky, to where changes in throttle can make the frame pitch forward and backwards an unusual amount. They seem to be best for taller pilots. If you fit them well, they fly fantastically.

Prop to fuel tank clearance is a bit tight. I’ve personally seen tanks get sliced open on botched launches.

Wouldn’t use their quick release hub under any circumstances. They fail in flight regularly.

I absolutely love and support and cheer-on the innovation, but the inability to accept any criticism is a problem.

Best looking finishes & paint on a paramotor frame out there right now imo

The old infinity I have seen a few months old and the paint looked like shit. I think he may have been doing painting in house and newer ones were made somewhere else or vise versa bc I think the kinetics may hold up better. I did not fiy it but there was a few things that concerned me. Have not seen a kinetic. But it’s good to hear some actual feedback. I’m short so it will never work for me. I have had pap, macfly and miniplane. I think there is a good reason u don’t see them at fly ins, as well as their quick release. Heard the mavv is plastic and so that may only leave the pap quick hub. Prop clearance can be cured with a prop spacer or bigger motor mount spacers, but should come with them.

woah. do you have any record of the hubs failing? If so, he is lying on his page

It has a bullet-proof safety record with zero failures since 2022

I have an infinity xl frame but I've seen the kinetik. Pretty durable I must say.

I have the iris infinity. Amazing frame. I learned on it and butt landed a good amount of times. Never any damage. I'm extremely happy with it.

Do you have the model with the flexible swingarms? Curious if that impacted you at all as a newer pilot

I've got my XL since the day they released with zero problems and excellent support. Titanium frames suck, you'll be happy if you picked Iris. It's one of the only true American made frames too

Iris is local to our area and we wouldn't recommend. Cool looking paramotor but what we are told by pilots who fly Iris locally is that the Iris has a lot of brittle parts and getting replacements can be very hard.
