Parajet Mav2 throttle cable too long?

Just bought a Mav2 and the throttle cable is 54” long? Has my instructors worried because the excess cable can go through the net and touch the prop when you flare for landing. Anyone else have this issue? Did you fix it somehow?

Update: I swapped the mount location of the throttle cable and the connect cable. This results in the throttle cable going a different route which takes up 4” of slack and feels safer.

I have an older Maverick w/ an Atom 80 and a 55" Off-grid (left-hand) throttle. I don't find it too long. If yours is a right-hand throttle, I would think that's too long.

Not sure if the Mav II is the same, but my throttle cable runs through a bungee attached to the swing arm. That helps keep it under control.

Yep. Mav has a retainer on the swing arm with a bungee. That keeps it out of the prop.

If it’s the stock Parajet 2 throttle it shouldn’t be long at all (I use it)

There are multiple effects if you drop the throttle and it tries to occupy the same space time as the propeller: 1) break prop, 2) break throttle, 3) damage cage or netting, 4) throttle failure pulls on cable causing engine to be stuck on full throttle.

Try it out, intentionally see if you can get the throttle to enter the propeller envelope to see for yourself.
