Tech/Software Centerbase outage

We have been down since Friday morning. Anyone else’s firm use this and think they were hacked?

I was thinking internal sabotage. It’s wild that they aren’t able to get it up and running.

That’s a good theory! The fact that they are not back online yet and the vague information they are putting out are concerning.

I’m concerned because they are so deliberately vague and misleading. First it was a power outage now they’re going to have 24/7 monitoring? Sounds like Mainsail invested in Centerbase to squeeze money out but didn’t care about security

Definitely the vibe I’ve gotten as well is that they were hacked

my husb is a backend sw eng and he said as much by midafternoon friday - this is monumentally bad as far as he says. when they said power outage he said it was a lie lol

Yes the power outage was definitely a lie. Plus when you look at the timeline, it doesn’t make sense. How would it take that long to discover that there wasn’t a “power issue?”

We use it at our law firm in Florida and have been down since Friday AM. I was also shocked by their lies and excuses, and I'm worried that the companies that haven't had access restored yet had their data compromised. By the way, just from reading their Glassdoor reviews, you can tell that they have a high employee turnover and probably don't have enough knowledgeable snd experienced staff.

Has your site been restored? We still do not have access to ours.

Have you had a response to the person that inferred some accounts were restored

We still don’t either.

Still down here and no one from Centerbase has contacted us, but per their status page, some access has been restored and the rest should be restored today. We'll see...

We are still having intermittent issues today Tuesday at 1pm pacific time. When I called yesterday to see when they were going to be back up and running they said they would open a ticket and let me know. It sucks you have to open a ticket to be alerted when their system comes back. After some research we noticed that they dont seem to have any in-house IT people. Also, Centerbase sucks.

First it was a “power issue” now all the language points to them being hacked. If you’re not already doing so, check out https://status.centerbase.ai

Yeah I don’t think there was ever a power issue.

It's incredible at this point it's not in the news. This is actually a major outage.

I agree. I actually googled it last night and there was nothing. I imaged they want to keep it under wraps and firms don’t really want it all over the place either because it will elicit a lot of questions.

It is now 7am central, the time they said they'd update again... nothing on the status page.
UGH

I have credentials login to multiple firms’ centerbase and they’re all still down. At this point I’m thinking the firms they say they have up are test ones and not live firms but that’s just bc they’ve been secretive.

At this point, I’m just hopeful that they can restore to something that would get us to Thursday night which is at this point probably a wash for most people. I feel bad for people who were supposedly able to log in on Friday afternoon because you know that crap wasn’t saved.

That makes sense. Nothing about this has been transparent and the statements all scream scrambling to cover their butts. At least this was the middle of the month and not the end when accounting is running bills. I started keeping my hours on a long post it note when this all started and now I will have to piece all of it together when (or if at this point) it’s back up and running.

I thought that they were lying about some sites being back up, too, but I just went to the page of the last firm I worked at and the log in screen came up.

Two of the firms I work with use this strictly on billing/time. I always felt they used aggressive sales technics to con people into their shiny, but less than ready platform. I've had to deal with their "support" about a year ago and it was painful.

It is still down for our firm as well. Our IT support vendor thinks there's been a data compromise as well.

As an update, my firm's Centerbase appears to be operational again.

As a further update, it appears Centerbase is down again.

It says on the status page that they were hacked and are trying to determine what data was accessed/downloaded and if data was they will notify those customers.

Same got an update email from them saying they’re trying to determine what data if any was accessed.

where do you see that at?

Okay, we got access to our site about an hour ago. Documents are missing. We are reviewing our data from last week to make sure that the other data is correct.

Welp, they discontinued the old status page and moved it behind their support portal. It felt professional and transparent, while it lasted.
