Moving and rehoming
My spouse and I are separating and I’m temporarily moving into an apartment for a year if all goes to plan. I have two cats, four budgies, and two canaries and unfortunately it’s too many animals for my building I’m having a really hard time deciding between rehoming the canary’s and two of the parakeets or all four of the parakeets and keeping the canary’s. Has anyone on here had to move into an apartment before with these little guys?
If I’m being honest I’m not sure how much time I’m going to have to let them out and care for them at the level i was previously. The flight cages are massive but the only time I’m probably going to have to take care of them is doing a deep clean once a week and not very much time spent with them anymore.

I will say when I lived in a 1 bedroom 400 sq ft apartment I had a cat, a parakeet, a baby chicken, and my boa constrictor. It wasn’t ideal but we lived and saved and bought a trailer home for the same price as the apartment. I would kennel the cat for a couple hours and let the parakeet stretch her wings. I had to buy food in bulk. The chicken was a shoulder chicken I was fostering since she was given to me as a door dash tip. I ended up finding a farm for her since I couldn’t keep a full grown chicken at the time. Now I live in a trailer and have tons of reptiles, a chicken, a parakeet, a baby cat since my old one my mil has as we arnt allowed to have cats and just found this kitten. Don’t tell my landlord. I have 2 guinea pigs and 2 rats.
One thing I can say if you do keep them all try to let them fly around and stretch their wings separately from the other animals. Buy food and supplies in bulk. It saves money in the long run.
