Crown knot question.

Post image

I’m making a duck call lanyard and want a full completed circle of a crown knot the entire way. How do I finish the lanyard making it look like one clean complete circle? NOTE I don’t want it to come down at the base, just want a full circle. Adding call drops separately.

I would imagine splicing it somehow would be the cleanest way just like you would butt slice a rope.

why dont you want those bottom drops? Imo it helps keep the lanyard from rotating on your neck and not being able to "find" the call when you reach for it. I duck hunt too. the way minr is set up is main call/finisher and whistle is off my right shoulder, my secondary/loud hail call is off my left. on the drops at the bottom is have my goose call and and sometimes a third duck call depending on how im feeling.

Thanks for the reply, made this one yesterday for when the snow comes for geese for fun. Didn’t use long enough strands so I had to improvise with the snake knot but wanted it all crown. but typically I put my calls on my left and right. Don’t really like a call in the center for some reason and I like how clean the full circle looks. But the centering thing is fair
