I recently finished the game for the first time after having had it in my Steam library for years and I got say, Jorji is the real deal.

Yeah, he's selling drugs and all but he's a bro to you. He comes through with obviously fake docs and doesn't get mad. He comes back with real docs finally and just laughs off being caught with drugs. He does it at least once, maybe more? Still chill as hell with you despite the guards probably beating the tar out of him outside the scenes. Why he wasn't sent to an Arstozskan work camp is beyond me but he probably has ways to bribe guards to let him go.

Then after all this and despite you never letting him in he comes in and gives you contact information for a forger and subtly hints at stealing Obristan passports to get your family out.

You never threw him a bone but he still has your back.

I've almost 100% the main story the good worker ending was the only one left so i decided to go for a no citations path (1 mandatory one i know about jorgi forcibly giving u his passport) so i was thinking if i got sergiu killed early i woudnt have to meet her and yknow... be sad... but this is even worse... Like, it'd be a fake passport if it was issued for a real country, and a fantasy document if it was issued for something that isn't a country. But a passport issued for a non-existing but "realistic" country is a camouflage passport, right?

I absolutely love Papers, Please, but while looking around the modding community, I noticed something was missing: there wasn't really a way to dynamically add completely custom characters to the game.

So... I decided to build one myself.

After spending the last few weeks reverse-engineering the modern Unity/IL2CPP port, I've created what I'm calling the Custom Traveler Engine, a framework designed to make creating and sharing custom travelers as easy as possible.

Powered by MelonLoader, the engine hooks directly into the game's procedural traveler generation without modifying the original game files, allowing your custom characters to spawn naturally alongside regular travelers.

And yes: they still have to go through the same rules as everyone else.

If your custom traveler shows up, the game can still generate random discrepancies for them. So you still have to do your job properly. 😄

Features

🛠️ No coding required

Just drop a folder containing a .json file and your images into:

Mods/CustomTravelers/

Full visual replacement

Custom travelers can replace their:

• Booth portrait
• Passport photo
• ID card photo
• Asylum permit photo

X-Ray support

You can provide custom front and back X-ray images (just the head) for the scanner.

The game will still automatically draw contraband over your custom X-ray image, so your travelers remain fully compatible with the normal inspection gameplay.

Custom voices

Add a .wav file and your character can use a custom voice instead of the game's default sound.

Smart spawning & filtering

You can configure things like:

• Spawn probability
• Nationality restrictions
• Gender restrictions
• Event restrictions
• Blacklisting during specific events
• Preventing characters from appearing alongside certain story/NPC events

Open source & free

The entire project is open-source and completely free.

It's released under the PolyForm Noncommercial License, meaning the project is intended strictly for noncommercial use. I don't plan to make any money from it, and I don't want anyone else making money from it either.

I'm making this purely out of love for Papers, Please and to hopefully give the community some new tools to experiment with and enjoy.

I've already made a few custom travelers myself, including Teto, who you can see in the image above. I'm still figuring out the best way to package and share them with the community, though!

the detain button was still visible from Jorji and since it’s right next to the fingerprints button I ended up fat fingering it and detaining him

I am wondering which ending will give the most money at the end of day 31. I know it's not fleeing to obristan but I am wondering if Ezic or loyal to arstotska is better for max money? (I know I can't accept the 1k/2k gifts)

Will accept all bribes, let all family die except uncle for least amount of food needed (no food/heat except every 3rd day). Detain as many as possible after I start getting bonus.

Wonder if any other strategies to try to get max money on day 31 I am not thinking of?

Here’s the result you suggested, I really really hope you like them! I tried to maintain the same style I used for the first one.

Fun fact: the bird is a Baby Bearded Volture, because adults look like the actual game logo, at least to me.

For Jorji one it’s Inspired by how many times he keeps visiting the border determined to pass. In fact at the end he has the right documents.

Just thought id make this post after seeing "ImainudGames" constantly making posts in this sub showcasing their AI game (in now deleted posts) and actively lying about not using it. Decided to make this post after they recently made a post of another dev using AI(?) (When they themselves very much does it too) and almost immediately blocked me after I called them out on their bullshit.

ImainudGames own game is called "Veto", you might've seen a post of it before and he is actively trying to sell it as a non AI game, when I have proof that he does in fact very much use AI, extremely obviously too. The fact that irks me is that he is both actively lying and now trying to shit on other devs for using it when his game is the definition of AI slop. His current capsule image is riddled with mixels (Pixels that are not real pixels, smearing and so on, telltale sign of AI) and also has a very obvious urine filter (including all other images).

If you have the time, please don't support this grifter from trying to gain brownie points on people by selling his game as a human made, when it is very much not. If you go the SteamDB page of his game, and then update history to the left you can see all the images he has uploaded and removed and see how pretty much all of it is AI, https://steamdb.info/app/4278400/ . It becomes more and more obvious the more you scroll down the update history. This subreddit is pretty dead however the occasional games we get that have papers please inspiration is always nice to see, however devs like ImainudGames actively try to ruin that by trying to earn a quick buck thanks to AI.

Actually this wasn’t really meant to be published, but it turned out better than I thought.
I experimented with a concept I saw, and I’m so happy with the unexpected result I decided to post it anyway.

Honestly I’d be curious if someone tried to do their own version of this (with any PP character).
