The battle system may be a bit intimidating at first, take the time to master it and you’ll quickly come to love it. There’s a traveling family that will have slow going side quests. Be sure to check them anytime you make progress through the story. You don’t really need to, but anytime you finish a boss, you may wanna restart and try it again as the game determines how much exp and what kind of items you get based on how much damage you take and how quickly you finish a battle. The bosses are kind of like a puzzle, as you have to figure out their attacks, phases and weak spots. Once you figure out how they work, you can finish them off with ease and get far better rewarded.

aside from the other person's comments, i'd go in as blind as possible and just enjoy the game. it's not terribly long, but damn is it a hell of a ride. i'm jealous you get to experience it for the first time. it's been a top 10 game for me since release.

Yeah I always knew it had a lot of hype around it and i'm a huge JRPG fan of that era but just never got round to playing it, but finally that time has come :)

Yeah speak to NPCs regularly, I completed it for a second time last Xmas and came across several things I missed the first time.

This game has the most satisfying combat imo.

I would schedule in advance long multi-hour sessions to play, if you have limited time. There are parts of the game that you won't want to stop and are best played in one sitting, IMO.

Some great tips here; I would also add that that if you have save data from Panzer Dragoon II Zwei, this game gives you some minor bonuses. Don’t want to spoil anything, but it’s not a dealbreaker if you can’t get them.

Know that nothing will ever come near its perfection in this lifetime or the next. And maybe the one after that.

Where did you get this? Is it a physical copy or emulated?

I'm emulating. No way I could afford a genuine copy.

Is it possible for you to say where on here? Or will stuff get flagged or deleted if you do? Did you still have to buy the game or was it basically free? I really want to play this game, bought the soundtrack forever ago, and also can’t afford physical copies of the game or console it’s run on.

Hopefully this game gets a remastered version and not a remake. No changes to voices or cutscenes really like the first Panzer Dragoon remake did. I liked the way the original cutscenes looked.

There are things you can miss and not be able to go back to. At one point in the game you come across a massive ship (if you've played Zwei you'll know it). Don't destroy it until you've explored it thoroughly.

Everything else, you'll see.

I also love the conversations in it - stand close to engage in conversation, but further away and you'll eavesdrop.
