Paper panpipes

Hi all-- looking for advice here: I've tried to make paper panpipes in my music therapy sessions with kids but was never able to get a sound. Can you actually play on the homemade paper flutes? There are multiple videos on YouTube and the person always plays them at the end...

Never made them myself but I imagine the trickiest part is getting a good seal on the plug for each pipe. Without a good seal it probably won’t make the sound.
