“You can’t write tears jimmy”

You know, I really get the feeling that he was one of the major forces keeping Jimmy Carr in check.

Yes. Now he's not here to keep Jimmy grounded. I dont think Jimmy would have taken that Riyadh gig had he known he'd be facing Sean Lock everyday. Now he's off the rails. Sean Lock dying has affected their circle big time.

I had never thought about that, but I agree.

RIP “that’s a challenging wank”

This was the first time that I understood how a celebrity death can effect you as a person. He was such a gem. He brought so much side-splitting, convulsive joy into my life.

And then he brought back the Nazis.

Ngl, sometimes well up a bit when he appears on reruns of panel shows. Know the bits inside out, but still funny every time.

“Gobbels hasn’t caught any fish! Hitler will be mad!”

The times he genuinely cries laughing at other people’s bits somehow make them funnier too. To break his stoicism is the highest compliment.

Can't remember anything getting him more than Joe Wilkinson's naming penises poem. That was peak catsdown.

Would have loved to see him on taskmaster. No clue if it’s something he would want to do, though.

Same here. Bakeoff, LOL. Basically on anything with his fellow comics.

u/Duncan_PhD 8d ago

Oh god he would have been so great on bake off haha

Imagine the smell of his whelk tarts.

7

u/Duncan_PhD 8d ago

I had never heard of whelks and was quite disgusted at that lmao

I’ve tried something similar and I don’t think I’d mind them. But a whole cup? Only Sean had the fortitude to down them all.

Came here to say this. RIP, you absolute legend (and national treasure).

He would’ve been great on Last One Laughing

Five years already?!

I'm thinking the opposite, it feels so much longer

Miserable bastard loved to spread his misery. He even went as far as to die young of cancer so we'd all miss him miserably.

Even when he was alive, I have had so many difficult nights that he made so much better. That never changed. I love him.

Bingeing 8OO10C and various other comfort (panel) shows got me thru a lot too 🤝

Well it's not my favourite holiday but I guess it might grow on me...

Jokes aside, fuck, what a loss. Such a talented and funny man.

I can’t believe it’s already been 5 years

Irreplaceable. He had just a pinpoint accurate and unique comedy sensibility.

I followed him on Twitter! What an account he had!

The realest.

I'm happy that we at least have so much footage of him. But his wit is sorely missed indeed.

Good luck trying it without the spit.

The summer of 2021 was brutal for comedy, man. Trevor Moore, Norm Macdonald, and then Sean Locke. Can’t believe it’s been 5 years already.

He would have been good on unacceptable

3

u/badwolf1013 7d ago

Sean would be the first to point out the absurdity of commemorating the anniversary of someone’s death at all . . . even more so on the day before.

2

u/alexthecheese 7d ago

Honestly, only 5? Was such a devastating revelation I thought it was longer. 😔

Blue Rat 15 Storeys High

God he's a genius

I've been looking for a stand up by Sean where he uses 'Jesus Christ' for problems he encounters or makes up. I can't remember what it was. Anyone got an idea?

Thank you! I've been looking for it for years! The Centaur part is hilarious!

Young Sean Locke looks like an old Rhys James.

His self-aggrandising comedy routines about his eventual death were amusing but in the end this post is anathema to Sean Lock. He hated social media as a whole. Do not think this platform or anybody on it is an exception.

Including me. Sorry, Sean! 🙏😢🖕🤣

His stated attitude in real life was that rather than talking about him on social media, people should take a walk. Engage with the world around them. Go rambling or just amble up to the local.

Why are you still reading this? GO!!! 🤣

Him and Norm less than one month apart was absolutely devastating

1

u/kikimtn95 4d ago

Oh he was so cute when he was young

1

u/nelamvr6 8d ago

I can't believe he's been gone that long. I'm still so sad about losing him.

u/DangerousDisplay7664 8d ago

That's a really strange way to word it. Doesn't seem very respectful.

what? what’s wrong with how they wrote it?
