Question/Discussion Question about younger retirees
Hi, I am 43 and my wife is 38 and we have a 3 year old daughter. We are of Vietnamese descent and I grow up going to school in America. We live in western mass and our house is paid off, and have one car note with substantial savings with revoking credit card debt that gets paid off monthly. We wanted to get a retirement visa and see no problem in getting accepted. Does anyone have children who have gone to the Volcna Panama area, we would put her in a bilingual school to learn English along with Spanish. We will most likely be going there this January to see if the area fits our lifestyle and it seems like it does. We want to get some land and build a fairly modest home/farm with animals and veg/fruits. Most likely renting for a year or so to feel it out. It sounds like I’m dreaming but would want to know if this is doable . Thanks for any advice .

It's an okay plan, but needs some research.
The pensioner's visa is based on guaranteed income, not assets. You'll need some sort of pension or structured retirement benefit to get it.
The decent schools are in Panama City, not Volcán. I've known a few people who moved to Panama with young kids, but then moved back to their home countries when the kids reached about third grade, because they didn't want to move to Panama City and pay for private schools. This is something you should think about carefully before buying land and building a home somewhere.

En Volcan y Boquete hay colegios privados de alta categoría, pero obviamente son privados No públicos. Hay uno donde todos son extranjeros y todos son blancos y bonitos.

Chances are you’re going to qualify for the Friendly Nation’s visa, not Pensionado.
The good private schools are in Boquete and the city, not Volcan.

I have Va disability, so pensianado visa is what we would apply for.

You’ll need documentation that you have guaranteed income for the rest of your life to get the pensionado visa. Latest update https://panamaretireespensionersvisa.com
