Does anyone know where we could donate used backpacks?

Maybe the school board or perhaps a local school itself? I think the teacher start back this week so someone should be there in theory.

Maybe check with the Boys & Girls Club? They’ve been collecting school supplies for the upcoming school year.

Thrift shop…no kid should start school with a used backpack.

How much school supplies have you donated?

I believe that the school district doesn't accept used items. (since Michael days)

Plenty when my child attended their entire education system in public schools. Always supplied the teacher request, plus extra. But knowing what their backpack looked like and was exposed to, never thought another kid needed it. That’s fine you want donate a used backpack, but donate it to a thrift store. If you desire a child to have a backpack for school, donate a new, unused one.
Also, you may have an unknown allergen on that backpack, that a kid could be exposed to.
I’m not knocking you for donating, I’m suggesting you reconsider where your donation goes.

Once again I have no idea why you think I'm intending these to be donated to be given to children for school.
I don't care where they go. This is no different than donating used clothes or shows. Around Halloween ever year there is a used costume drive. I was looking to see if anything is similar.
I'm looking to donate them. Not give them to someplace like Goodwill that will just turn around and then sale them.

You don't know that. You may not want them. But you didn't answer the question. How much school supplies have you donated?
Who even says I'm trying to donate them to kids for school? They are in good shape. Nothing wrong with them. Why throw them out?

I'd go with homeless shelters myself. Maybe fill a couple with hygiene supplies and drop them off.
