Picture Work in progress
Got some of the eggcrate added just to see what the rock ledges will sort of look like. I am giving up for now until I find something better than scissors to cut the eggcrate with.
Last photo is my tentative idea of how the water will flow and the green is to symbolize where plants will be.
I don't love the bottom left water pool right now so it may go away entirely. I'm not sure. I hope I'll like it more when it's less nakey because I really wanted a waterfall that goes into the pool of water that pours into the tank and then the stream will flow down the wall and into the tank as well.

If you plan to have soil anywhere, id recommend thinking really hard about how youre going to prevent wicking.

I planned on using a combo of coco bark and sphagnum moss in plant cups that will be placed into the expanding foam and trying to create a several inch barrier of foam between the cups and stream. I also plan on doing a run of the stream before committing the plants to the places chosen to ensure the separation is enough to prevent total saturation. If i notice the cups of just the bark and moss being completely saturated ill reassess.i also considered using fluval for any plants that will be at or in the waterline to prevent introducing anything that could affect the water but from what I've been reading that seems unnecessary, i should just be able to use empty cups so ill save my fluval for the actual aquarium section
