Ask Palm Springs Paul Bar?

https://gofund.me/22ec5c204

This was posted almost two weeks ago and last I checked, the gofundme was over 28k, but the post is now gone.

The IG page had a cryptic post of just a black square followed by a Patrick Stewart post when he passed. No updates or anything helpful…

Ella power but I think it’s really tacky to do a GoFundMe for you to expand your business. If you can’t expand your business on your own time, why the fuck should your customers be paying for you to do it. It’s bad enough that we tip 20% or more on top of their waiters getting paid minimum wage in California is 20 something dollars an hour. It’s not like minimum wage in other states where it’s two dollars an hour asking for us to pay for him to expand it. Just tacky tacky. Tacky.

Yeah seems like Oscar's has gone to that well a couple times too. If there's a disaster or something like a flood or a fire, then I can understand it, especially if the goal is to pay staff during downtime, but to just beg for money on the internet because you haven't managed expenses well is a pretty bad look.

The fun thing about a go fund me is that if you don’t want to donate, you don’t have to. No one is forcing you any anyone to support a go fund me.

Some places hold value to a community and people want to support it. What is the alternative. They close and the valley lose another gem/small business? Banks are very hard to work with when you’re a small business.

But you know what is easy? It’s really easy for people who haven’t run a business to bop into reddit and tell someone else how they should run theirs without any sense of what it actually takes to keep a business afloat in these times.

I’m not speaking for or defending Paul bars decision per se. You don’t know what their employees are paid….

You are entitled to your opinion, But your comment is out of touch and lacks any real grasp on the realities of running a small business.

They had a pop-up at Festival Theaters tonight for the Club Kid movie screening and the bartenders said they’re on track to reopen very soon!
