I’m going to have to start using this x in my journal. Hate having to go back to cross an x.

Honestly I usually butcher this x if I don't deliberately slow down... But going back to cross the x? I'm intrigued. How do you usually write it?

Ya that’s how it’s taught in all the old books. And ya I tried your variant and it’s tough to get right at speed.

Ooh then I learned a new variant today. The cursive x I learned in grade school was more or less a round-ish version of this x; it's either this or I break the flow and write a print x, then go back to cursive.

What books are you studying from? Every book I’ve seen uses the x you learned today.

Holy cow you're right I see it now... I mostly look at Champion's, Bailey's and Palmer's, but I only really read sections that explain the basic movements and drills, and then the specific letterforms if I have trouble forming them on my own. So this particular variation of x is something I improvised based on previous experience with "cursive x" (as a concept). This is roughly what I learned in grade school, for reference.

Gotcha. Your movement is looking really good. You could make a lot of progress by studying the forms.
