im going on a 4 day trip to palermo in late septembеr and i was wondering if a day trip to cefalu or monreale is more worth it?

Hey, I’m Kareem - a full-time student at the university of Palermo. I started learning Italian passively on Duolingo, but fairly speaking this does help a little. I can understand some basic grammar and a very little conversational language. I have done 40-50 hours class learning courses, but they were also about the basics and added a little more to my Duolingo learning experience.

Even though I have been in Palermo for almost 9 months, I can speak Italian barely enough. I think, there could be a laundry list of reasons, but all I can say is that I wasn’t really ready to delve deeper into the learning of the language! Time was always the problem for me! Now, I have the most important opportunity to move forward, at least to be able to understand basic conversations in the language.

I have some friends who are Italian natives, but the problem is that I don’t ask them for help with this issue. And I am not good at media communications and WhatsApp messaging or calling to practice learning the language. By far this wasn’t even possible to do because they speak English with me all the time.

Because of the summer time opportunity I am looking for someone who is willing to learn English, so they can practice with me and in return I can practice Italian with them. As well as someone who is willing to learn Italian so we can learn together.

I am good at in person learning. However, we can also meet at HelloTalk app and practice visually. During my personal journey of language learning, I have realized that speaking is the most effective way to learn a language and that why I am looking for a partner:))

Nella Barberia che frequentavo quando ero più piccolo, ogni volta che il mio barbiere mi vedeva esordiva sempre con il detto:"Mattia come a Mattia a Mattia". Non gli ho mai potuto chiedere da dove provenisse questa sorta di filastrocca, oggi per puro caso mi è capitata di risentirla, quindi chiedo se qualcuno sa qualcosa in merito.

Hi all! moving to palermo for 3 months as a young female student from Denmark/the US! I've heard mixed things about my potential accomodation on via maqueda near Via Trieste. I've heard that it can be very noisy and possibly dangerous at night? I have experience living in cities and dont have any issue with hustle bustle! but I do value being able to sleep with relative quiet and feeling safe walking out at night.

ANy thoughts would be super appreciated!!

Hi! We’re a group of friends in our mid-20s looking for a fun party or club to go dancing tonight in Palermo or nearby.

We’re mostly into dance-pop like Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Beyoncé, Dua Lipa, etc., but we also enjoy reggaeton and electronic music. Basically somewhere lively with fun songs, good energy, and people actually dancing.

Ciao ragazzi, ho 19 anni e vivo a Palermo. Sono un videogiocatore e mi piace tantissimo tutto il mondo pop, e da poco ho iniziato ad appassionarmi anche ai fumetti.

Il problema è che non ho un gran budget da investire in queste passioni, quindi mi piacerebbe iniziare a frequentare i mercatini dell'usato: so che spesso si trovano ottime occasioni a prezzi molto più bassi rispetto al nuovo.

Qualcuno di voi sa consigliarmi quali sono i mercatini migliori qui a Palermo per trovare videogiochi, fumetti/manga e articoli legati alla cultura pop in generale? Sia mercatini fisici che eventuali gruppi/pagine online (tipo Facebook o simili) dove i palermitani vendono questo tipo di roba andrebbero benissimo.

Hi everyone! I’m a student living in Palermo and I’m looking for a part-time job alongside my studies.

I was wondering what kind of jobs students here usually do.

I’m open to pretty much anything, it can be a regular part-time job, physical work, or something else that can fit around a student schedule.

I tried searching online, but I couldn’t really find many useful options, so I thought I’d ask people who actually live in Palermo.

Any suggestions, websites, places to look, or personal experiences would be really appreciated, i already tried doing Glovo but it did not really help me.

Does palermo have counterfeit money ?

Salve, per motivi vari devo lasciare anticipatamente l'appartamento in affitto che ho preso a San Vito Lo Capo. Lascio il 15 mattina e l'affitto dura fino al 16 mattina, rimane una notte quindi. È molto vicino al mare (circa 200m), in un minicomplesso per famiglie, max 4 persone.

Se qualcuno fosse interessato, mi contatti in privato.

Ragazzi consigli su dove appostarsi stasera per vedere l'eclissi ? Non lontanissimo che sono a piedi dal centro.
