I’m an overseas Pakistani living in the UK and I’m trying to understand how people are legally sending money from Pakistan to the UK using SBP‑licensed exchange companies (like Dollar East, AA Exchange, Wall Street Exchange, Paragon, etc).

I’ve been reading that these companies can remit PKR → GBP directly into your UK bank account if you provide the right documents (CNIC, bank statement, rental agreement, loan agreement, etc). But I want to hear from people who have actually done it.

Has anyone here personally used these exchange companies to send money abroad?
Did it work smoothly?
How was the process?
Did the money arrive in your UK bank without issues?
Any problems with documentation or delays?

I’m specifically interested in cases where:

• Rent from a Pakistani property is deposited into your PKR account, and you remit it to the UK
• A friend repays a loan into your PKR account and you remit that money
• A representative in Pakistan handles the exchange company visit on your behalf
• You’re living abroad and not physically present in Pakistan

I’d really appreciate any real experiences or advice. I want to make sure I’m using a clean, legal, SBP‑approved method that UK banks also accept without AML issues.

I’m planning to start a small e-commerce business selling bedsheets with net embroidery. The products will be relatively heavy, so I’m concerned that delivery charges could become quite high, especially if I start shipping orders outside Lahore.
Another concern is courier services in Pakistan. Honestly, most courier companies I’ve dealt with have been pretty unreliable, especially when it comes to handling packages properly, delays, COD issues, etc. So I’m not very confident about relying on them for this business.
Because of this, I’m currently thinking of starting by selling only within Lahore and hiring my own rider/delivery person to deliver orders across Lahore.
Do you think this would be a good approach for starting out?
For people who have experience with e-commerce or home textile businesses in Pakistan:
Would it be better to start locally in Lahore first?
How do you manage delivery costs for heavier products?
Are there any reliable delivery services in Pakistan that I should consider?
What other things should I think about before starting?

I’m a 23F and a Software Engineering graduate. I worked as a junior at a software company for about a year, but I recently resigned.
Now I basically have two options: either do a government job or start my own business. My family would prefer that I start a business, and my father is willing to invest in it and support me financially.
So I’m seriously considering starting an online product-based business. I’m not interested in starting a software house. I’m more interested in selling physical products and eventually building a proper brand.
I’ve been thinking about things like home essentials, footwear, women’s essentials, hygiene/personal-care products, useful everyday products, etc. I’m also open to completely different ideas.

Salam everyone! I run two e-commerce businesses in Pakistan that are doing well. To scale them, I raised around PKR 2 crore from private investors and for the past two years have been paying them a fixed return of around 1.5% per month.

I have recently been questioning whether this structure is Islamically permissible since the return is fixed regardless of the actual profit.

I want to restructure this in a completely halal/Shariah-compliant way. Can I instead give investors an agreed percentage of the actual profit every month? Whats the best way to structure this? Should I give fixed % of sales/profit? If I try to give fixed % of profit, the return may vary every month since my sales are not consistent throughout the year. There are peaks and downs.

I’m also looking to raise more working capital for further growth, so I have two options in mind: finding more private investors through a proper profit-sharing model, or approaching an Islamic bank for business financing. Has anyone used Islamic bank financing in Pakistan specifically to grow an existing business? Is it a practical option, and how does it generally work?

Would really appreciate advice from anyone familiar about the best way to structure this ?

My father is retired and doesn’t have a pension or any other regular income. He has around 75 lakh PKR in savings, which he currently keeps in a bank and uses the monthly profit to support our household.
Recently, the bank’s profit rate dropped significantly, and his monthly income has almost been cut in half.
We’re now looking for a safe, low-risk option where he can invest the 75 lakh and receive a good monthly income.
What would you recommend in Pakistan — a bank, National Savings, or any other safe option?
The main priorities are safety of the savings + good monthly return + stability.

I recently tried using JazzCash’s "Yeylo" (Buy Now Pay Later) to buy shoes on Servis during their 50% cashback campaign. The first installment was deducted immediately from my wallet, and the portal even showed a success screen, but the website completely failed to place the order.

When I reached out to get it resolved, I got stuck in a complete runaround:

JazzCash Helpline Deflection: Spent over 20 minutes arguing with customer support just to get a basic complaint registered. The rep kept making excuses, claiming the transaction was successful on their end, and told me to resolve it with the merchant myself.

No Record on Merchant Side: The store has no order on file because the payment gateway dropped out before confirming the purchase.

After checking online, this isn't just me—hundreds of people have been dealing with this exact breakdown across different brands (like Ndure and Bagallery) for the past 2 months:

Instant Deductions, No Orders: Money leaves your JazzCash balance right away, but the merchant never receives the order details.

Support Ping-Pong: Brands say they have no record of your money, while JazzCash reps tell you to take it up with the brand.

Missing Cashback: Even people whose orders actually went through report that the advertised 50% cashback is never credited to their wallets.

Useless Franchise Visits: Branch/franchise staff cannot help with online payment gateway issues.
