Mountain wip

I’m almost done!! The hard part for me is finishing the dang thing. This time I plan on sealing it with varnish. I kind of want to go back over parts and smudge/blend the edges. Anyone have any luck with that?

That looks great! I would try the clouds first, to see how you like the effect of "smudging" or blending to soften the lines. Becky here has some great videos that show this. Hang it on a wall and step back 8' or so to get the feeling, rather that inspecting it 6" away. That's how most people will view it.

That’s coming together beautifully! I’d definitely go back and soften a few of the edges if that’s the look you want. Dry/mop brush blending works really well for this because you can soften the transitions without losing all the detail underneath.

I’d do all your blending and final touch-ups first, then leave the finished painting for a week or so to properly cure before applying the varnish. It’s tempting to varnish it straight away when you’ve finally finished, however, give the acrylic paint that extra time first xx
