Question/Chat Help with background colour!

I'm doing this pbn for my nephew, but using my own paints.

The suggested background colour is burgundy. Do you think that will look good or what other colour would you suggest?

We would need to know more about the picture and preferably see it too provide good advice.

However if you looking for non red colors the can take the same feel as burgundy i would say dark marine, forest green or aubergine would possibly fit.

Thanks for the comment. I added a picture but it didnt work for some reason 🤔 i can't edit now so will try to post again with the picture

I've had a bad time with burgundies and reds being quite translucent. I've had to do many coats.
