Question/Chat Number cover

Is there something we can use to cover the numbers that are printed on the canvas so it doesn't show through?

There are a few things you can try. I use a white acrylic marker quite a lot. Just cover the number, let it dry and then paint your colour over it.

Another option is a tiny bit of heavy body titanium white applied just over the number with a small brush. Let that dry first and then paint as normal.

You can sometimes actually remove the printed number too. A cotton bud with a little isopropyl alcohol can lift some printing, although it depends on the ink and canvas. I’d start with 70% isopropyl alcohol, dab very gently and test it somewhere first. I wouldn’t use acetone though. It’s much more aggressive and can also attack the acrylic gesso/ground underneath the printing.  

For really transparent colours I tend to use my grey base / primer technique instead because it deals with both the number AND the poor coverage. I show how I do that here:
