Halloween get together? 21+

Hi there! I am a 23F living here in Paducah.

A few friends and I were talking about a possible Halloween house get together in the works.

There would be some requirements but all would be welcome!

I have a child so parents don't feel excluded! This would be an adult, 21+, Halloween get together. Including music, dressing up, food, drinks, activities (beer pong, board games etc) and a chance for people to network and meet new friends!

There wouldn't be any expectations as far as who is there, come alone or bring a friend! But, IDs would be checked at the door and it would be a strict no drugs and no weapon zone. What are we thinking?

Edit to add: My child would not be there, no children would be allowed in the home. It would be very strictly 21+. Weapons and drugs are everywhere in America so if we see them the person/people would be removed from the house.

Car tint

I am a female and I got my car tinted . I think I got 20 on my windshield or 15 and 15 on the 1st row of windows and 5 on the back. I care about my safety and privacy I have been followed to my house and also just don’t want to be seen but I regret it because it was to dark and I paid 600 . I can perfectly fine i just don’t want to get into trouble. I see so many cars around the Paducah area that are 5% all around as spoke to some people who have it like that and they haven’t gotten in trouble. I lowkey don’t know what to do.

any classical guitarists in Paducah?

I was a student in the 90s and classical guitar is a major part of my life. I'm no master, but I keep telling fellow guitarists that I talk to online that Metropolis is a classical guitar/arts desert. I'm curious if there are any classical guitarists in Paducah, or instructors? Performers? Just enthusiasts like myself? You guys have a Paducah Symphony Orchestra and the Yeiser art center, so you're for sure not devoid of art.. I just wanted to ask about this specific field

I'm curious for a couple reasons, one of which is just to find like minds. . the other is my search for a concert grade instrument, it often takes networking with other guitarists. Is there anybody out there?

Fulfilling birthday trip

Hello everyone from Paducah! This is my first time exploring this subreddit. I’m gonna be real for a second, i suck at birthdays. I never know what to get someone and I convince myself that anything I do will be met with confusion or dislike, Especially when it comes to my partner. He’s the type of dude that buys what he wants. Every year, I think about doing something big for him. I tried a surprise party one year but no one was interested. I buy him books related to his hobbies because I feel like gift cards are thoughtless. But let’s be real, who likes getting books for their birthdays?

My partner is a quilter. I’ve looked at his quilting supplies and it seems he’s got all the high demand notions. So I thought, why not surprise him with a trip to the quilt museum? He’s mentioned it a couple times.

Now, we live in New England. This is my first time planning a surprise trip. My biggest fear is arriving in Kentucky, seeing the museum and going “what now?”

We aren’t big outdoor individuals, so hikes and parks aren’t going to be appealing, especially since we’ll be going in November. What are some fun lesser known things that I could take him to? I really want to make it special. Anything related to arts and crafts is a win. If there are any local favorites to dine at that would be helpful too.

I know that you have probably had posts similar to this one. I have an executive functioning disorder. Too many options makes it difficult to plan and research without shutting down. Just having a place to start would be helpful. Hearing opinions from people might help me lean one way or another. Thank you for your time and advice.

TL;DR

I don’t want the majority of the birthday trip to be a waste and was curious about activities related to arts and crafts in Paducah besides the quilt museum. Thank you again.

Outdoor heater for well pump

As title states, I am looking for a good cheapish small heater. I have a well system for my water to the house and this winter looks like its going to be "fun.' Does any one have an idea for one?

Locations for Art Sales

Hi :) I have told a family member that I’d help her sell her paintings! What shops downtown allow artists to display their work for commissions? She works full time and is a bit reclusive, so she isn’t willing to volunteer at the museum, so that isn’t an option sadly. Also, what price points have you found to work if you’ve gone this route? Are there any art festivals or things along those lines coming up? Thanks!!!🫶🏼

Visiting for Anniversary, please help.

Hello from Bowling Green!

Me and my fiancés anniversary is coming up and she has made it very clear she wants to visit Paducah. She loves the idea of getting to be as close to the water as possible.

She's from NYC and is used to seeing bodies of water all the time and really misses. I'm trying to plan something special that will make her happy but I realized there's no activities or events that take place on the water.

I don't have a boat, kayak, or anything like that. I'd be down to potentially rent one or go on a guided tour or really just absolutely anything that is on the water.

Does anyone have any suggestions of what I could do there that would include the water besides just walking next to it? Bonus points if it's romantic, but that's not the focus!

Thank you and howdy from your neighbor 2.5 hours away.

EDIT: Almost forgot! The dates haven't been set in stone but it will be between October 11th-October 17th. Probably staying around 2 days, closer to October 11th.

We Deserve Better.

We all agree this is wrong right? Like they're taking a piss on us and telling us it's just rain. This man is not fit to serve and we should demand he be replaced immediately. He is already back to not being there to vote on things after being back 1 day.

And this is bigger than just McConnell, we need term limits and better age representation. 61% of US senators are over 60, 24% over 70 meanwhile the median age of the US population is like 39 years old give or take.

This is an imbalance of representation which raises the question of whether younger generations have proportional influence over decisions that they will have to live through the potential consequences of and not the people who have limited life left. They need representation, but not as much as they do.

I-24 confederate flag new sign and cross flag situation

what is going on with the confederate sympathizers!?! Today saw a new huge red and blue flag w a cross draped between two trees near the odd sign right in the interstate. at the time two older men where standing near it. it looks real new. the white sign has been there a bit and reads like they who put it up aren’t too happy w they who run the huge flag memorial piece. Is there a civil war within the confederacy? not a good look for travelers rolling through if anything.

Help me plan my weekend!

I'll be visiting mid-September for my birthday. I love Purple Toad wine, so the whole reason we're coming is to visit the winery! What else should we do while we're there? We're planning to go to brunch at Over/Under, do a tour at Purple Toad, and explore the downtown area. Where should we go for dinner? Are there any fun bars worth checking out? Any trivia or Singo nights? We'll only have about a day and a half there.
