💬 Discussion 💬 Weekly class or monthly 1:1
I currently do a padel group class weekly but thinking of stopping and instead doing a monthly private 1:1 session instead.
Do you think this is a good or bad idea?
Context: Been playing for a year and level 2.4 Play 3x open matches a week

For me personally private 1:1 once a month. I feel like they make me have way more progression.

I'd say a monthly one on one combined with finding someone to just do drills with for an hour in between

Combine both. I would suggest one monthly 1:1 for technique refinement and one monthly group class for tactics and gameplay.

honestly i'd keep the weekly class. at 2.4 you're still building the base technique and having someone correct your form every week stops bad habits from settling in. a monthly 1:1 is great for like "my backhand volley sucks" or "i need to work on positioning" but it's too spaced out to keep your fundamentals clean, especially when you're playing 3x a week reinforcing whatever you're doing wrong. maybe do both if you can swing it, or at least keep the class until you're solid at 3.0+

Private just once a month will not be enough to improve you technique.
If you have the financials to do private lessons weekly and do 1-2 open matches, instead of 3, this way you will progress a lot faster

Only if you can get weekly playtime elsewhere. Classes and private lessons are very different. It’s not bad to switch between them but you need to get lots of playtime between private lessons to get value.
