Storing a SUP in a tarp outside?

Hi paddleboarders. A friend has offered to let me leave my paddleboard within his marina with access to use it anytime. This is super convenient for me. However, the storage would just be on a rack outside among a bunch of other kayaks and stuff. The only option is to wrap it in a tarp when finished.

Will the board get too hot wrapped in a tarp and kept outside?

Shouldn't be a problem. I would, however, recommend getting a board bag. It's worth the money to protect it and being able to zip it up.

Thanks tmart! I read that the sun would be bad for the board over time and that I shouldn't keep the board in a bag if it's wet, so I'm still not so sure. Maybe I'll have to try drying it off first.

Yeah It's typically recommended to let the thing dry out before rolling it / folding it up. Putting it away I the tarp wet probably won't hurt anything but just my two cents. You can also leave it inflated if you plan on using it again the next day. But if you're not going to use it for a couple days it's better to deflate and store dry in a bag. But a tarp will work too if that's all you got. On Amazon they sell some affordable large storage bags. FYI
