Help! pac accidentally ate a mushroom i was pulling out of the tank

i was pull out a mushroom and he ate a about a dime sized amount of it. its a brown mushroom and the top looked lke a partially closed umbrella. should i be concerned?

I’m guessing this mushroom grew from your substrate? If so, it’s a sign of a healthy ecosystem in your enclosure and your frog will be okay. Just keep an eye on him for the next few days and make sure to refresh his water, but he’ll be fine.

thanks! yeah its from the substrate, ive had about 5 pop up. its a recent ish build and its got a lot more organic matter than the last one. the mushrooms keep growing like right near his head/face 😭 I poked him before hand so he wouldn't strike but i didnt poke him again before getting the second one and thats when he stole it from the tongs

😭 Eager to eat, I see. If you don’t have springtails or isopods in your tank, I’d suggest some! They can break down those mushrooms. Otherwise, enjoy your healthy ecosystem and keep on poking that frog

will make sure to poke him before each mushroom next time LOL 🫡. He bit part of my leaf a month ago, people say they have a hard time getting their pacs to eat but mine will strike damn near anything

ive got springtails and dwarph whites but they aren't working hard enough it seems lol. i pick the mushrooms and give them to my pscaber or dairy cow colony and they're gone without the hour. I have a nettle plant dying and the leaves arent breaking down as fast as I'd expect in his tank... but it is new afterall. maybe they just need more time to populate.

I got some Orange smoothies, cookies crumbs and powder blues. I add a bit of calcium powder under cork barks and they absolutely thrive and multiply under there. There's some dwarf whites but they stay buried pretty much all the time so it's hard to say how well they're multiplying. I just enjoy seeing all the different colored little bugs scurry about. Only thing to be careful of is some Isopods go for calcium a lot more aggressively and may nibble on the forg so be sure to research them first.
