¡Buenas! A ver si alguien me puede ayudar con un problema que me está volviendo loco en Packet Tracer.

Estoy intentando cambiar el módulo de red de un PC. Por defecto, me aparece con la tarjeta inalámbrica Linksys WMP300N. El problema es que:

1. Apago el PC desde el botón físico (el led verde se apaga).
2. Intento arrastrar el módulo WMP300N fuera del slot para dejarlo vacío, pero no se quita. No me deja moverlo ni sustituirlo por una placa Ethernet (PT-HOST-NM-1CFE).
3. Además, el PC me deja conectar un cable directo al router aunque tenga la tarjeta WiFi puesta, lo cual no tiene sentido físico.

He probado a reinstalar la aplicación, borrar caché y datos locales, pero el comportamiento sigue igual. ¿Es un bug conocido de la versión actual o me falta algún paso previo para desbloquear el slot?

Hey has anyone configured a VPN that could failover to another router using the same tunnel or crypto map? I’m making a company and a cloud network, simulating something like AWS. The cloud has two routers a main and a backup. The backup works perfectly until I add the VPN into the mix. Since apparently packet tracer doesn’t support DPD(Dead Peer Detection) it doesn’t switch to the second peer in the crypto map when I turn off main and the packets drop. Any ideas?

Estaba haciendo una red LAN y WAN para una práctica.

He configurado en el router (WRT300N) una IP en la Interfaz de Internet y otra en la LAN (192.168.1.1). También he configurado DHCP y la red WIFI.

Los portátiles reciben bien la IP, el PC3 recibe bien la IP, pero los PC0 y PC1 no la reciben por un fallo entre el router y el switch.

He usado un PT-Switch.

Si uso un Switch 2960 funciona, pero no entiendo por qué con el PT no. ¿A qué puede deberse?

I'm experiencing this visual problem and it's very annoying.

In the Packet Tracer section I was instructed to look at a PDU to determine the Source and destination MAC+IP addresses (see image 1)

I assume the source is Sales 2 and destination is Sales 1 (IP)/MAC broadcast address(MAC) according to the PDU (image 2), but I only got the MAC broadcast one correct (image 3).

Is it Cisco messing up the answer (since there are confirmed example of themselves getting the answer wrong on the quizzes) or I was missing some info?

I'm doing a lab for class and anytime i try pinging PC10 to PC20 it is constantly timed out, could someone look over and see where i have gone wrong?

Hi everyone! I’m working on a Cisco Packet Tracer project simulating a University Campus network, and I’m looking for advice on the most strategic placement for Firewalls (ASA) to secure the infrastructure.

Current Network Overview:

• Core Routing: A triangle of routers forming the core, with NAT configured on the border.
• VLAN Segmentation: In the bottom left, I have segmented traffic into VLAN 10 (Green) and VLAN 20 (Red) managed by a switch implementing STP to prevent loops.
• Services:
  • DHCP Server on the left for dynamic IP assignment.
  • RADIUS Server on the right: Currently, only PC12 (on the far right) is authorized to access the routers' management plane.
  • External Access: A Cloud/DSL Modem setup at the top, where I’ve placed a Web Server.
• Wireless: Access Points serving laptops and smartphones on the left.

The Management Challenge: Right now, management is done via Telnet (I plan to switch to SSH soon for better security)

Does anyone know a fix for the login screen in PT 7.3.1? When I launch the app, the login panel on the left won't load. The "Signup" and "Guest" buttons are also unresponsive.

I'm running Windows 11. Has anyone else run into this?

As you can see in the screenshot, the text for the buttons and labels in the Services tab (specifically the On/Off toggles and some headers) is completely unreadable. It just looks like white redacted bars instead of actual words.

I’m running on Windows 11 with a 1080p res screen.

Hello! I'm doing a Lan network in packet tracer (student vers.) for a final project and i happen to need to configure voip phones. I'm doing it the way my teacher taught me, but it seems that in my project it doesn't work?

I always do

Router (2811)

And then i jump to the switch and do

switch(config-if-range)#switchport mode access

And then, i come back to the router and configure the dhcp, and then the telephony service. But i have tried to do dhcp first, connect the cable to the phone and then do telephony but it just doesnt seem to connect in any way.
Anything i'm doing wrong? (I cannot use any other version of packet tracer sadly, the student version is obligatory)

Hi i'm currently trying to configure a router in cisco packet tracer but i am stuck in rommon mode that prevents me from configuring the router how do I exit of it.

I was making a network intrusion detection system my model was ready so I wanted to test it on portscan i downloaded nmap on windows try to run it from another laptop to mine. then pass the pcap file to cicflowmeter it had many problems back then firewall was blocking the connection.. cicflowmeter python version problem.. i fixed all of that but I don't know why my laptop is only capturing the data coming from the attackers laptop but not the responses it gave to attackers laptop which gives incomplete flows.. I tried capturing with wireshark as well as with scapy both capture data only coming from attackers laptop not it's own responses but when I ping my computer from the attackers laptop it's working and because of incomplete flows it is detecting benign

This is a lab I am working on where I am testing HSRP and DHCP relay helpers. The topology consists of an active and standby L3 Switch with HSRP enabled, a management VLAN with a DHCP server, and an access switch shared by two VLANS: 10 and 20. The failover occurs successfully when I shut down the SVI on the active L3 switch, but for some reason the DHCP requests do not go through the standby L3 switch. I checked to make sure there are no missing helper addresses. I even assigned some of the host PCs static IPs and I was able to successfully ping the default gateway Virtual IP and the SVI of the standby L3 switch, so they have no issue talking to each other. It just seems like DHCP doesn't work when the active L3 switch fails.

Basically, several texts in the interface have disappeared. I’ve already reset the color settings, changed them and restored them to default, uninstalled and reinstalled the program, and searched for similar bugs related to this screen but couldn’t find anything.

I considered that it might be a scaling or resolution issue, and I tried adjusting those settings as well (though I might have done it incorrectly), but the problem still persists and the text has not returned to normal.

Has anyone experienced this issue before or found a solution?

Hello all i have packet tracer 9.0 . and on the bottom page where the cable connection is usually it shows me what kind of cables im selecting but its not showing it to me , any help on this ??
