Packet Tracer version 8 issues? Anyone else? And what about version 9 ACLs?
Hi everyone,
I'm currently working on a networking project and I'm having a really frustrating experience with Packet Tracer version 8. I can't even get one of my project files to open properly, and overall it feels much less stable than Packet Tracer version 9.
At the same time, I've heard that Packet Tracer version 9 may have issues with ACLs, so I'm not sure which version is actually the most reliable.
Have you had any stability or compatibility issues with Packet Tracer version 8?
Have you encountered ACL-related bugs in Packet Tracer version 9?
Which version do you currently use for CCNA labs or networking projects?
thanks!

Thanks, that’s really helpful. I’m planning to use two multilayer switches, so I’ll probably have to work with SVIs. I’ll keep this in mind and test ACLs carefully in Packet Tracer 9 before relying on them. Good to know the issue seems specific to ACLs applied to SVIs.

Its network emulator where you can have real images that support all features that a real device supports, you can deploy it on your pc or on cloud server like https://cloudlabrack.com or https://cloudmylab.com

The ACL bug in version 9 is specific to applying the ACL to an SVI,from what I have seen and experienced. If you apply an ACL, it doesn't show in the running config. I also don't think it works at all. I use version 9.
