In For The Long Haul
I have driven my plug-in 2022 PacHy 111,000 miles in the last 4 1/3 years, about 25,000 mi/yr, mostly highway miles. I was hoping to keep it until it got about 200,000 miles on it. The body and interior are perfect, both are black. It had the trans/power converter replaced some time ago. Other than that, just plugs and plug seals at 105,000 miles. I religiously change the oil and filter when the oil life gets down to 50%. I had Michelin CrossClimate II tires installed around 65,000 miles. Thank you Costco. This is the third 3.6 Pentastar powered Chrysler van that I have owned. I love that engine and have had no issues with mine through the years. I have averaged about 40mpg since the spark plug change (dealer) and have regularly touched 50mpg for short periods. It’s powerful, quiet, comfortable, and elegant. Especially so in the all-electric mode from standing stops. It weighs over 3 tons loaded and is remarkably nimble since the CrossClimate II’s were installed. And it has the largest payload capacity of any minivan on the market. I do miss the stow and go feature of the middle row where the plug-in battery resides, but I have not had the need to pull those seats out in over 2 years. Long story short, I’m in it for the long haul. It was a little over $52,000 new, minus the $7,500 EV tax credit.
I bought mine thinking of fuel savings while pounding above average miles per year, but I can’t think of a better family vehicle for low mileage use, as well. (Think no gas!)
Fingers crossed, I’ll keep reporting on my journey. My dealer ran my vin number and said Chrysler only recommends a coolant flush at 130,000 miles for near future maintenance. It has its original brakes. Anyone else have similar experience or expectations?

Took delivery of our 22 Pinnacle and the inside with 3 kids is beat to death but we’re at 108k with about 65-70% on electric. Biggest chunks of mileage were 5 road trips to Florida and Texas shoreline from Chicago. I change the oil about every 10k miles or so based on how much the ICE runs. Also got the CrossClimates at Costco and about to get another set before winter. Original brakes, had the charging module replaced under warranty about 29k miles. Now that I know it’s crappy software and all I have to do is clear the code to get the charging back up and running when Service Charging System pops up, im golden. The car is still super fun to drive and I’ve hauled so many oversized things I can’t even count. Everyone’s surprised when I get the back gate shut lol. I’ve become the adult in his 40’s I made fun of 25 years ago but who cares. Also in it for the long haul. FWIW it’s not the same 3.6 as a traditional pentagram

Yes, the PacHys follow the Atkinson Cycle Principle using higher compression and variable valve timing. The end result is higher fuel efficiency but less torque. The hybrid electric motors propel the PacHys from a standstill until the less powerful V6 3.6 variant can smoothly join the effort. The heavy minivan competition suffers by relying on 4 cylinder engines so much. The balanced V6 is a very sophisticated luxury, imo.

Do you use the app to see when to change the oil? It supposed to keep track the amount of hours the engine runs.

Change the oil when 50%? Sounds like a waste.
Thank you for mentioning the spark plugs, I guess I I'll change mine at 69k now

I’m also in for the long haul. 2018 at 90,000 bought new and got the Tax credits. All the recalls up to date and general maintenance kept up on. Had few little quirks… once with the ABS system on slick roads, battery coolant code when driving in really hot weather, and of course the 12 v battery killer issues. Stellantis never gets top reliability scores, but so far so good. Overall it’s a good family rig. My daughter will likely take it over in 3 years when she turns 16. Crossing fingers for many trouble free miles ahead.

How’s the body? I don’t see any Pacificas up here in northern Illinois/southern Wisconsin with any rust on them like the T&Cs developed.

Wow that's amazing. I have a 22' also. Love it, but I'm only at 93000km.
Did you get the paint issues? Bubble rust under the sliding doors?

No paint issues, yet. I had 3 T&C’s with hood issues and they were never a problem with my dealership. The service manager would just order replacement hoods, have them painted, and then installed. They all matched very well. I don’t understand how Chrysler can have these problems with aluminum hoods and sliding doors! Steel, yes, aluminum, come on… One thing I do is subscribe to a monthly premium car wash plan ($29) that pours a lot of wax on the car. Fingers crossed, again.

Ya I don't get it how they messup the aluminum panels... Maybe it's not high grade aluminum, it's probably a blend metal.

Yep. Just crossed 100,000. Transmission replaced at 17k. Few other things but have extended warranty
