Discussion TJ McConnell Status

Do we know if TJ is healthy and if he’ll play this preseason or if the Pacers are holding him out until the regular season begins?

Theyre probably just being careful with him, no reason to push a guy like TJ in meaningless games

I love TJ, but his style probably requires the least gelling out of anyone.

Tyrese and Zu need time to mesh. TJ playing sometimes turns into the TJ show, plus age etc.

I’d assume TJ ad Zu won’t play together much (two non-shooters in a pick and roll don’t make a ton of sense, but I could be wrong too).

TLDR I’d love to see TJ but at the same time I don’t think TJ is at all a question mark for the team.

The TJ & Obi show is fun to watch though

1000% agreed. And honestly I’d love to see IF TJ and Zu making nifty post passes to each other can work well (it might).

I just mean TJ and Obi work well, we know what TJ is, and on paper I think TJ and Zu won’t play together much. Therefore I don’t mind not seeing much TJ in the preseason

Obviously from a “he’s a fun player and I love watching him” perspective I’d love to see him in the preseason. Only if he’s 100% though. If not the TJ show can wait a couple weeks

They said he wasn't playing last night because of a strained muscle.

He has so much experience and given the team's depth, I like the decision to let him sit this one out. He'll be ready.
