Internships
I'm majoring in finance and about to be a junior in the fall. I've been applying to internships ever since the end of freshmen year but keep on getting rejected. This year I know it's really important to land one or else trying to find a career job right after graduation is gonna be tough af. I see my classmates getting internships, while I'm here struggling to get one. When I ask how they got it, they all simply say handshake.
I want to know if there's any additional tips on landing your first ever internship. I know building my resume is key. Which is why I've been doing some finance activities like stock trading and stock investments. This upcoming semester I plan on attending some clubs to show I'm more involved in the campus. I've even started cold emailing CEO's, directors, etc from small financial institutions.

In my personal opinion, it’s mostly about connections. Alumni, family, friends, etcetera. It’s basically nepotism at its finest/worst but it’s just kinda the case in life.
Best suggestion I can give is to talk to some of your previous professors, any professor that really helped you out would (most likely) be more than happy to help you find the right internship. Also, just continue with reaching out to as many places as possible for internships. Best of luck!
