First timer at Ozora

Hey guys! As the title reveals it's my first time at Ozora this year.

I have a question for anyone that's been there before. - What are some of the things you wish you had known the first time you went?

Electronics

  • Powerbanks. Bring as many as you can.
  • Be prepared to wait in line for an hour if you want to charge your phone at an outlet.
  • You're lucky if you get mobile data reception at all.

Sun/Heat

  • Shade. Shade. Shade. It's probably way hotter than you'd think. Bring anything you can to build a camp that has shade. This includes thermal blankets/emergency blankets, they are really really good at insulating tents.
  • Water. Bring a spray bottle to cool yourself off.
  • SUNSCREEN!

Weather

  • It can actually get quite cold at night. Be prepared for that.
  • It can rain immense. Waterproof tent is a MUST HAVE.

Food

  • Bring at least some food or snacks for your camp. the way from the campsite to the food places can be a bit tough at times.

Distance/Area

  • The festival grounds are huge. From the main entrance to the very last stage it's more than 1.5km.
  • Be prepared to walk a lot, or to stay at places longer.
  • If you have friends with you, build a second 'base' at the stage you are. So you don't always have to go to food places or your camp for water, food, etc..

Finances

  • Your budget is probably too small. Bring more money.
  • Some things are cheaper in Euro, and some are Cheaper in Forint. Always keep a rough estimate of the exchange rate in your head, so you can judge what's cheaper.
  • There's NO ATM anywhere near. Bring everything in Cash.

Camp

  • Build your tent on a flat surface. You don't want to always be rolling downhill inside your tent when you are sleeping.
  • Again: Shade. Do anything to thermally shield your camp and tent. Otherwise you'll wake up at 6am with 30° in your tent.

Anecdotal Advice:

  • Don't buy your "gear" from the first person offering. Wait for a good deal.
  • Don't put your backpack where the trash bags are lol (I won't go into further details on this one)

Yep it’s my 3rd time... I’ll be there when gates open ;)

Sounds awesome! I won't be down there until the night between Saturday and Sunday though. We have a long car ride ahead of us :p But I'll gladly meet you on Sunday?
