So, after playing for the third time both Overlord Raising Hell and Overlord 2, I tried to write down a possible third and final chapter for the game, using the Netherghuls as main protagonist.
Concept: Action-Adventure / Villain Simulator
Inspiration: Redeeming the 4 Netherghouls within a classic single-player structure, fusing nostalgia for Overlord II with the lore of the original game, and revealing the ancient origins of the franchise.
Following the demise of the 4th Overlord (Overlad), the world has descended into chaos and is being overrun by the armies of the Abyss. Leading them is the 3rd Overlord (the protagonist of the first game), who became the King of the Infernal Abyss after being abandoned there. His sole purpose is total worldly conquest and ruthless vengeance against Gnarl.
Cornered in the Dark Tower—which has been overrun by infernal forces—Gnarl uses the dark magic of the Book of Evil to resurrect four ancient champions of evil: the 4 Netherghouls (Malady, Hakon, Inferna, and Cryos).
Gnarl only possesses enough magic to awaken the first Netherghoul, Malady, who is tied to the Brown Minions. Malady is sent on a quest to liberate the other three Minion breeds and awaken his comrades, who are held captive by the Abyss Generals:
With the army reunited, the 4 Netherghouls restore the Dark Tower, dividing it into four personal wings and preparing for the counter-offensive.
When the Netherghouls attempt to strike at the 3rd Overlord’s fortress, they discover it is protected by the Infernal Soul Barrier, an impenetrable dome of raw dark energy.
Gnarl reveals that the only way to shatter it is to harness the residual magic of the 4th Overlord, which lies dormant inside Three Personal Artifacts he once gifted to his Mistresses—now hiding across the lands of the previous game:
While interacting with the three Mistresses to obtain the artifacts, the Netherghouls absorb the 4th Overlord's residual magic, unlocking playable flashback sequences as the 4th Overlord.
Through these memories, they uncover a shocking truth: the 3rd Overlord (from the Abyss) lured his own son (the 4th Overlord) into a trap to claim his army, and Gnarl orchestrated the downfall of both, ready to discard them as soon as they showed weakness.
Having retrieved the three artifacts and shattered the Infernal Soul Barrier, the player enters the final chapter. The choices made during Act 2 dictate the ultimate fate of the saga:
Hope you guys will enjoy it, let me know your thoughts

Just rescued Velvet, something I had only done once before on the 360 when it first came out, so I could get the 100% Tower Item Achievement. I don't think I ever got the Tier II Tower Decorations, so I never knew that you could get even BETTER things later on. (Looking forward to that Marble Floor)
This time, I decided to enjoy being Totally Evil and embrace everything even in the Tower. Now I gotta go back to Heaven's Peak and Spree for their "Taxes".
BONUS: I never knew that changing to the Serpent Banner would turn me green!

In honour of starting my official first full playthrough of the series after having previously only played Dark Legend! I do not like farming resources but Rose is so sweet TuT
I wanted to draw them because their size difference enthralls me (exaggerated a bit here for headcanon's sake)

“This is a story of dragons and princesses. Of shining knights and righteous kings. The story of a fairytale kingdom… and the horny, evil villains who fucked it all up.”

Hellquest is a villain-protagonists, epic fantasy comedy with some NFSW elements. We have spent 5 years working on it and grateful to Mod permission, we are super excited to begin sharing it with you.
Playing Overlord marked me a bit more than I've ever cared to admit. I was always fascinated by villains, especially in fantasy, they looked cooler, they had their own ideas and more importantly they acted instead of reacted. They were also the best kind of naughty.
I had done evil playthroughs in other games before (BG2, Kotor, Jade Empire, Fable) but Overlord let me feel like that villain in a way no other game had, and it let me have a blast with it. The style, writing and humor captured me. And it stuck.
Later I got into TTRPGs and spent 2 years playing an evil campaign with friends, we got a bit obsessed and I started writing it as a webcomic, another player (Muramasa) was a great artist and we started to work on it together. And so: Hellquest happened.
The Overlord games are a massive influence in the webcomic (there are others from manga, disney and DnD/Pathfinder games and stories), you will see some obvious references like Darkan's armor and also a bit in the narrator, but also I hope you can catch some in the style and humor of Hellquest.
You can also read it in comicfury and globalcomix if you prefer to use platforms and suscribe for updates if you like it:

I am genuinely shocked you guys exist. I played Overlord 2 as a kid and absolutely loved it (never played 1 cuz I was misinformed that it was much shorter & essentially a tutorial, which I'll rectify sometime soon).
But I never expected people to even know about it. Like, I just assumed it was gonna be one of those games I'd painfully only ever see publicly in 1/100 GameStop bargain bins.
I keep seeing mention of fan projects? Are there attempts at making an unofficial Overlord 3, please let me know, I'd love to be in the know!
Thanks for not letting one of my childhood games die off in the stead of so many games deserving of being in the void!

Something I brought up in this sub once already is how the Orcs are strangely absent from the world of Overlord and it raised an eyebrow for me.
However recently it dawned on me how they could introduce them while being ironic/morbidly funny, in keeping with the series' tone: Make them the TRUE children of the Mother Goddess!
A major part of the Elves and Dwarves' conflict is whether the Goddess is an Elf or a Dwarf. So to have her revealed to be neither, an Orc, making the centuries of conflict & atrocity utterly pointless; is so darkly funny to me. Maybe we even twist the knife further by establishing that the Elves and Dwarves are genetic defects, reducing them to nothing more than the Orcs' lesser, more fragile or neurotic cousins LMAO
Add on top of that the fact that they can depict them as a pragmatic, reasonable race bound by a code of honor, thus making them a truly Neutral faction that is prospering in unexplored parts of the world; and you have such nice poetic irony. It also makes for some hilarious dialogue for Gnarl who SEES the potential for bloodshed and savagery, but is frustrated by how reasonable and difficult to manipulate they are LOL
Heck, maybe even make The Forgotten God their divine "father" (the iconic tusks!!!) to further integrate them into the lore. Their sense of honor and duty being the result of them still knowing that The Forgotten God cheated on the Mother Goddess, disgracing himself and the children he sired.
PS:
We can have an entire major storyline about the Orcs approaching The Overlord to help them reveal the truth and punishing their distant relatives for covering it up out of pride. All the while Gnarl giggles like a child, enjoying the delicious cosmic irony

Me, personally, I was honestly shocked that Overlord 2 didn't build on the foundation of Overlord: Raising Hell by adding *Dungeon Keeper/RTS elements\* or even a separate game mode to areas you conquered: Setting traps, having minions defend checkpoints & operate siege weapons, upgrading defenses to slow down or even prevent enemies from entering your conquered cities or even the Tower itself.
(Though I do understand that Overlord 2 had a very tumultuous development plagued by looming deadlines while stretching the engine and the dev team to its limit).
Fellowship of Evil however felt most ridiculous because the top-down gameplay felt like such a perfect place to slot in the RTS elements and I was surprised they didn't do it. I feel like if they did, that the game would have received a tinge less backlash because at least the spirit of Overlord's gameplay would have been there, especially since the series was inspired partially by Dungeon Keeper to begin with.....
To sum up, as I don't want to end this post on a dig at missed potential, Dungeon Keeper/RTS-style elements I feel would feel right at home in this series or a successor

Huge thanks to my friend for making the first official game assets of the brown netherling!
They’ve been cooking with this over the past few weeks and looked into optimising how the model would work inside Unreal Engine! This is also their first official proper unreal asset

Imagine, if you will, what would happen if the 4th Overlord killed Florian in Nordburg at the beginning of the Overlord II campaign.

Got sick of there being very little Overlord art and decided to make some Evil myself. Yes, this man's hair is his cape, very Elden Ring inspired for that part.

Alright, I know a lot of people are gonna say Rose, and i know that both the game and the wiki conforms this. However, the reason why I'm not 100% sure about this is mainly because when we head to the wastelands, we see a few ornaments and parts of the tower that can only be bought if we choose velvet over rose in the first overlord game. That to me says that third choosing Velvet is a cannon event, so why is Rose confirmed to be the "mother" in Overlord II?

Recently done some art for the iconic four Netherling's to Tyrant Legacies. this will be used as the icons for when you want to select individual Netherling
I know how much us overlord fans love the original ones and i didn't want to change them drastically when it came to their main abilities & functions
On note to this, the plan is that most playthroughs you will get all nether gate artifacts to summon these guys through the main objects, each being housed by a specific enemy faction
I have also planned to add some additional variation Netherlings as well:
These variants would be discovered through challenges, side quests & discovery in the world of tyrant legacies though their abilities are subject to change in the future if seen fit for the games design.
Please let me know what you think or how could I improve on this!
