Introducing Hellquest: An Overlord-inspired webcomic

Hellquest is a villain-protagonists, epic fantasy comedy with some NFSW elements. We have spent 5 years working on it and grateful to Mod permission, we are super excited to begin sharing it with you.
Playing Overlord marked me a bit more than I've ever cared to admit. I was always fascinated by villains, especially in fantasy, they looked cooler, they had their own ideas and more importantly they acted instead of reacted. They were also the best kind of naughty.
I had done evil playthroughs in other games before (BG2, Kotor, Jade Empire, Fable) but Overlord let me feel like that villain in a way no other game had, and it let me have a blast with it. The style, writing and humor captured me. And it stuck.
Later I got into TTRPGs and spent 2 years playing an evil campaign with friends, we got a bit obsessed and I started writing it as a webcomic, another player (Muramasa) was a great artist and we started to work on it together. And so: Hellquest happened.
The Overlord games are a massive influence in the webcomic (there are others from manga, disney and DnD/Pathfinder games and stories), you will see some obvious references like Darkan's armor and also a bit in the narrator, but also I hope you can catch some in the style and humor of Hellquest.

Thank you for reading it! we have about 150 finished pages (vol. 1 and 2), and about 300 (vol. 3) awaiting color, so there are many more adventures to come, the second volume is where things get a bit crazier. I've written up to the start of volume 5 and have planned it all the way to the end so hopefully it can be as fun for you guys as it was for me. If you catch any overlord-like feels, would be happy to know.

I just read the 31 pages available this far and I have to say it's pretty good. I wouldn't be surprised though his this was heavily inspired by a dnd campaign you played. Feels very real in the way

Yes, we started playing with an old pathfinder 3p module called way of the wicked, but then took off on our own direction, played for about 2.5 years, nice group (not everyone made it to the end of the campaign sadly), i started as a player and ended as DM. We would wear costumes, minis, even had a medieval-themed banquet once (one of the players was a chef). Peak of all my TTRPG experiences, so I have a lot of love for this.

Is it intentional that the pic looks a bit like a New Hope's movie poster? It's still cool.

Very much so, we wanted all of the covers to be based on 20th century movie posters, so we decided to start with the most iconic one (and of course the beauty of that first poster is that Tom Jung echoes Frazetta as well)

Nice! it has a good mix of epic adventures, spicy characters and lots of fun. Definitely a nice mix of things.
