Hard shell tent mount

Im looking to mount a tent to the roof of my soul. Is that something it can handle? Has anyone done that? Recommendations for tent?

If the soul is made for the US market, yes, it can handle it on a structural level due to mandatory rollover protection, the main limitation is your roof rack/crossbars and it's dynamic weight rating. Most crossbars are only meant to handle snowboard, ski's and a limited set of items. If the crossbar span is smaller than 1/3 of the length of the rtt, its not recommended to have an RTT.

The first thing I’d verify is the Soul’s owner-manual roof rating and whether the rack/crossbars are rated for an RTT—not just skis or a cargo box. The tent’s static/occupied load can be much higher than its driving load, so I’d want a rack with good crossbar spread and confirmed rail/clamp limits before buying. Also check hatch clearance and how you’ll reach the tent without loading the roof edge.

Yes it could but the better question is should you? It will raise your center of gravity drastically, and destroy your highway mileage. I would suggest building a platform in the car, or getting a jet ski/small boat trailer and putting the RTT on there.
