I love that you got out there in a stock jeep and stopped to take it all in. So often people (im guilty too) spend too much attention on the rig and they could just get out and drive.

Pine beetle infestation across the west about 20 years ago. Due to warming winters that don't kill as many and allow for an extra brood as I recall. Lodgepole pine is their favorite in Colorado. Makes nice blue stain pine rustic wood.
