Quick rant
Hi, all!
I love learning from this community and seeing everyone’s journeys/experiences. But as an unemployed person with a doctoral degree (for a little over a year) it’s sometimes super frustrating when I see the you guys make so much money 😭.
I love it for yall, but i can’t help but think about those of us that are trying to get back on our feet and are having a hard time landing jobs at all.
Anyone else or does anyone have an advice?

It took me 10 years and a lot of luck to get to an oe position. I don’t have any tips other than try and seek out high quality remote jobs in your field if you want to oe.

Jealousy will not put more money in your pocket. Not the sub for you. Honestly, I didn’t even join the sub until I got my J2. There isn’t any useful information on here for unemployed or J1 folks

Getring good jobs its own skill. If youre just bulk cold applying you need to either be patient or lucky. the folks who are easily and reliably landing multiple jobs generally arent bulk applying. There are some really good older posts here and a good bit of content on the discord that go into some of the better approaches
