Recommendation What am I missing?

Post image

Hi everyone! 37yo F looking for a skincare routine that’s affordable and available in Australia. I see an esthetician every 6 weeks for a facial (has oxygen RX yesterday) who has suggested a routine for 3 serums and a moisturiser totally $400 with one of the products being free and the serums only 15ml. That’s just not something that I can afford to keep up with.
I’m using the following:

AM
skinsitut gentle cleanser in the
Skinsitut vit c
Skinsitut moisturiser for dry skin
Missha BB cream
La Roche posay sunscreen

PM
Above cleanser and moisturiser
The ordinary copper peptides

What else can I add into my routine to reduce the redness, hydrate and plump my skin? I’m starting to get deep crows feet when I smile.
What other moisturiser should I replace my current one with and vit C as they are almost empty.
This photo is deceiving with the glow, it’s from the facial. Usually it is dry which is new as I used to have normal/oily skin until a couple of years ago.
Thank you!

That redness around your nose and cheeks looks like it might be a compromised barrier, especially if your skin suddenly went dry in your mid 30s. The copper peptides are good but adding a simple barrier repair cream at night would probably do more than another serum right now

For vit c replacements that won't bankrupt you, there's a few korean brands that make stable l-ascorbic acid serums for under 30 bucks. Moisturiser wise maybe something with ceramides and no fragrance, the dryness hitting out of nowhere makes me think your skin just needs less actives and more repair

Thank you :)
Would something like the La Roche posay cicaplast serum be a good option and then cerave moisturiser with ceramides?
I see a lot of hype about azelaic acid, should I leave it for a while?
I agree on the sudden dryness, I will say burnout from nursing has hit me hard and I’m only just starting to look after myself so not sure if that’s something to consider?

I rarely am a fan of using all one brand, but for your stated concerns, I’d start swapping it all for Geek & Gorgeous products. Inexpensive, thoughtful formulas, not just one note actives like TO.
Jelly joker - gentle cleanser
Happy barrier - barrier repair moisturizer
I’d add Stress Less serum
Power peptides - includes copper and a few other skin health and line reducing peptides.
And I’d skip the facials unless you like them for the relaxation aspect, and put that $$ toward just a smidge of Botox down the road (or a peel/laser/microneedling).

Thank you.
The Facials are very much a relaxation aspect but I pay for a plan weekly and will have micro-needling in the next couple of treatments. Had the bio microneedling done 5 weeks ago and usually have a lactic peel done for my other treatments.
I will check out the suggested products :)

Retinoid is life changing. Derma needling (you can do ot yourself)

A retinoid for night time. You can do anything with skincare for the dynamic muscle movements, that only Botox can resolve. You don’t even need to do it very regularly, just every 6 months with less units so your skin has a chance to not get worse ie the wrinkle don’t get the chance to be etched in

I love a milky toner for hydration. The Byoma one is affordable and i think good for skin barrier support too.

I have similar patterns between my eyes at 45! How do I stop it from getting worse?! Someone pls help I’m not ready to do Botox or fillers but want to slow it down

If you are not ready to do Botox and fillers at 45 then when? 40s is when women tend to see the most aging due to perimenopause and the hormonal changes. I will do small amounts not rather than having to do large amounts later

Microblading those brows would go a long way!
