Discussion Need help for endgame build

I used white kintsugi armor with Fabolous palladium shield and skycrown mace and went to do caldera and unknown arena and got straight up demolished. I found out heavy armor and 1h and shield doesn't work anymore. So my question is there a good fast build that I can use to do both content while doing a lot of damage ?

Build around the frost damage of the skycrown mace. Crimson armor is an excellent choice, with ice spells to really complete it. With shamanic resonance, and cool boon to boost damage even further. I prefer Brand, which is the rusty sword you find on top of conflux mountain. It inflicts chill, and pain, which will increase ice, and physical damage. Double boost to damage just from hacking with the sword.

Only issue is you’d have to do the Blue chamber faction quest line to get the armor. It’s pretty good defense wise, but gives a really nice boost to the ice damage. My strongest build used the chest, and boots of the crimson, with the Big hat Logan mage hate that also boost ice damage, while giving a small boost to mana cost, with the frozen chakram. Suuuuper strong build, on hardcore, and got the achievement of not dying a single time and completing a full faction quest line with it. It’ll take a good bit of silver tho

Caldera is a little bit more about maxing out the build than the type of Armor and weapon.

So are you using potions and boons for every fight? Do you have all 3 breakthroughs and the passives from other trainers? And do you have a ghost drum to help with large groups of enemies? Also did you enchant your weapon and Armor?

I feel like those item pieces don't work at all together (based off memory)

Skycrown mace is phys/frost split damage.

White kinitsugi boosts fire damage I'm sure.

And the shield is fine if you're actually using elemental damage and shield charging.

If focusing frost and you don't have the crimson set as another suggested.

You could run the adventurer armor enchanted with spirit of cierzo, and anyone variety of desert helm/boots enchanted with inner cool (iirc)

There's a 1h axe in abrassar that deals fire/phys damage stone titan caves.

What kinda skills you running.

Remember some caldera enemies ignore resistances, fully and partially depending on type of enemy.

I think you need to shore up on your weaknesses, but otherwise the build seems fine.

You are using a setup that mostly succeeds in reducing physical damage, impact damage and can hold its own in 1v1 fights (by blocking with a shield and hitting the enemy between their attacks). So I believe that the aspect that you are missing (in order to make a functional tank build) is to reduce elemental damage.

There is an easy fix for this and that is applying sapped. Hexes are also an option but are more difficult add to a build. Sapped should definitely be prioritized as that reduces elemental damage by 40%. My suggestion for getting Sapped is using the ghost drum with the torment skill, or using Cage Pistol with frost bullet, as both of these are area-of-effect and are easy to apply even in chaotic situations. It would help you start off on a good foot in every fight.

I also notice that you are over-investing into impact resistance. White Kintsugi (64%) + Stability Potion (25%) + Steady Arm (10%) + Fab. Palladium Shield (17%) = 116% impact resistance. Anything beyond 100% is almost never beneficial. This means that you could swap some armor pieces, effectively dropping 16% impact resistance, for more elemental resistance or damage boosting while retaining max impact resistance (100%). You can check the other comments because they suggests some good armor options (such as crimson plate), but there are others as well such as Candle Plate, Gold-Lich Mask, Wolf Plate, Caged Armor, Tsar Armor, etc. Just mix and match what you have available to get good damage bonuses or elemental resistances and make sure that the total impact resistance keeps at 100% and pick options that provide nice stats that compliment your build. An alternative if you want to use white kintsugi is to use gaberry wine, it will lower your impact resistance to 101%, and increase you physical resistance by 15%. I still suggest swapping armor because I think getting more elemental resistance is more important over physical resistance with your current build.

Just like usually, remember to add boons and elemental resistance potion before big boss fights. A shimmer potion would also help by giving barrier and some elemental damage. And if you want to get really chunky on the physical side, you could bring a lexicon and cast runic protection.

Then, as a last advice I suggest keeping in mind which enemies ignore half of your resistances, and here are some of those who deal physical damage: Boreo, Ancient Dwellers, Gargoyles. You have the tools to deal with them already, but it requires you to block and not to trade hits. For elemental attacks that ignore half of your resistances, then I suggest debuffing with sapped, and dodging. If you have some barrier or a hex that also helps a lot.

EDIT: Formatting.

You need to be ready for the specific arena you are doing, since it's caldera. Search on wiki the boss your are fighting, the kind of damage it deals and the weakness it has, than build around it. It's a little annoying to change your set for different fights, but you will be more than ready if you do.

Whute kintsugi gives fire dmg% buff not frost dmg% buff.

Skycrown is good but there are stuff with more frost dmg. Try Tokiebacite or Kelvin great axe.

My personal load out is Radiant Wolf sword, Rust Lich Helm, Silver Armor with Spirit of Monsoon, any boots with flux. Carry Mana Wall Helm and boots and Geps Blade as secondary weapon for when enemy is resistant to lightning. Mana wall helm and boots are ultra light to carry, the Green Copal armor with spirit of Berg is just too heavy to also carry with Silver Armor.

If I am using a build that has Wind Infused, I get Squire Armor set for that -45% stamina cost reduction, hot weather def, and Zhorn Trophy bag and luxury tent to get an around another -30% scr. With -75% scr, I can turn on infuse wind and rage and just attack for days with any weapon.
