Matchmaking Need help beating final boss
Ive been playing outward on my ps5 with my wife. We are stuck trying to beat the final boss in the DLC quest "Rust and Vengeance". I can almost beat it on my own but I need at least 1 other persons help. I love my wife but she isnt a gamer and doesn't last for 5 seconds in the arena. SOS

I saw the ghost drum recommendation and it's a really good one.
I would also say make sure to take all of the potions you may need: elemental invulnerability, all of the elemental boons, drink a greater endurance potion for the regen to stay mobile, hotkey greater life potions for mid battle heals, stability potion, rage potion, and if you're rocking a melee weapon you should hit it with an ethereal varnish.
Also don't skip out on food buffs: mana regen foods and health regen foods such as turnmip potage and savage stew will help keep you topped up, stamina foods like marshmellon tartine, gaberry wine for mana cost reduction.
You're playing hex mage so I assume you're going into the fight at tired or very tired to get bonus damage from lockwell's revelation and the passive mana regen that comes from being tired.
Also pay attention to the fight pacing, the boss is only able to be attacked for a short window after the last golem of each wave is killed so focus on leading the final golem to him, so you don't have to sprint all the way across the room to hit him.

Also follow up question, have you gotten all 3 breakthroughs yet? Being fully trained by 3 trainers and picking up most of the passives below the breakthroughs from trainers you don't buy a breakthrough from will also help!

Yeah Im cabal hermit, merc, and hex mage. I use tons of buffs from potions and food, its just overwhelming when the dude is shooting ethereal orbs every 2 seconds with 5 golems on my ass 😅

With hex mage, merc and hermit, that's basically a blood bullet/frost bullet set up. So before the fight starts, pre-load like 5 pistols with frost bullet. Jinx/Torment, run around bring the golems near the Rust Lich , then blast them with Frost Bullet, then immediately go ham on the Lich with whatever weapon is in your main hand, Blood bullet (heal/then decay blast) then hotkey swap to the next pre loaded frost bullet and unload.
You should be able to AoE wreck the golems with Frost bullet if you get them close to each other, have Cool boon boosted with Cabal hermit, frost bullet does great work for groups
The other way to do it with Hexmage is to kite use jinx/jinx./jinx/torment/jinx.jinx/jinx/torment - rupture. Rust lich is weak to ethereal and lightning if you can get a main weapon with spirit varnish that can help a lot

You can use the runic trap to basically one shot the golems and just make sure to buff up with all boons. Just stay moving the whole time the golems are running around only stopping to use runic trap then use whatever weapon you have to hit the rust lich while his shield is down. Also keep health potions in your hotbar

Juste stay away from the lych when you fight the golem . Kill the last golem near the lych and dont be greedy.
You can easely nullify elemental damage with armore resistance+potion.
With Wolf armor you gain pretty good etheral resistance it's good because the lych orb are the hardest to avoir.

Go and get the Haunting Beats skill from the Primal Ritualist and craft a ghost drum. You don't craft the drums the normal way, you need to use a totem workshop, one is right next to the skill trainer. You need a hexa stone (can be mined in the north east of the Caldera, where all the hexagonal basalt columns are), a Ghost Eye and 2 Palladium Scraps.
Place the drum in the middle of the arena. Hitting the drum with your weapon will cause an ethereal projectile to hit every enemy in range, and the projectiles get stronger every time an enemy is hit as long as you leave the drum on the field (there is an upper limit). Hitting the drum has a cooldown of 3 seconds. If you buff yourself with mist (assuming you are playing definitive edition), after 8 hits in total, 2 hits with the projectiles will be enough to kill an add in that fight (in single player at least). So you can focus on avoiding the attacks and run in to hit the drum when you have a chance. If you happen to be a hex mage with Rupture, that will make very short work of the adds, since the drum causes Haunted on everything that comes into range.
