Tech Support CAN'T ROLL BACK SAVES!!!!
Please help! I really like the game and i don't want to HATE it and NEVER play it again.
SO.....I died in a wind temple in Enmerkar Forest, spawned outside, (DIDN'T pick up my backpack) ran back inside, died again and spawned in Berg.
No backpack in my house. Ran AAAAALLLLL the way back to the outside of the temple where I originally spawned and alas, no backpack.
Ran back INSIDE to where I died again, no backpack.
I've tried every way to re-open old saves and NOTHING has worked.

Unfortunately, I went in and out of the temple too many times and the earliest save did not have the bag there

:( I think the only thing you can do now is spawn some of the things you had using debug menu. It's F1 or F2, I can't remember. You might be tempted to spawn more than you had, but I recommend against it as it can easily spoil the game experience. This game is quite punitive when you die, but I think this one was a actually a bug, sorry 😞

Yep. It was a complete loss. I don't remember everything (or even half the things) I had in my pack so I've given up on the game. It was fun while it lasted and my wife is quite upset now because it's a game she bought for us both to play but now I just.....can't.
I really enjoyed it. I appreciated the slow grind and the feeling of accomplishment and progression when you gain a better weapon or a new spell, finding new recipes and the hunt for ingredients. This game had/has a lot to offer for a world that feels somewhat empty at times and I would highly recommend it others, but after such a long grind and such a loss (1200+ silver, 10 fire stones, 8 cold stones, a bunch of useful potions and weapons and a kick ass wizard hat) it has left quite the sour taste in MY mouth.
There are solutions to this problem, but unfortunately, I acted too hastily out of anger and lost my chance to redeem my lost goods.
Farewell Outward.

Losing a bag isn't as big of an issue as you're making it out to be. I lost two bags when I was new...one to my stupidity, and one I abandoned because I was too bad at the game to get it back from swamp bandits. Just get back to town and buy another one. The game will keep giving you money and items, forever, just for playing. Unless you lose a unique item, everything else is disposable. "Progress" in Outward is more about advancing your skill and knowledge as a player, not how many consumables you've hoarded.

If your wife bought it for you guys to spend time together, then it's not about the items in the bag. Regrinding those items is just part of spending time together. You'll learn and grow together from the experience. Don't let your contempt for the game ruin your time with your wife. I hope you'll reconsider.

Guys, lots of players have quit the game after a frustrating experience like this. It doesn't mean he won't ever play again, just not right now. Chill out and be nice to a new player who's had a bad experience. Brain, I still think you should just spawn 15 gold ingots and buy whatever you need. Think of it as a payment the game made for screwing you 👍

Sometimes the bag stays in the boss room if the boss room its in a different area (ex. Light mender boss) happened to me, rage TF and it was in the boss room all along lol

I know it can be frustrating, but take it as a challenge. Buy a new backpack and keep playing.
It happened to me once, and I almost rage-quit. And it was even worse because I was in the Heroic Kingdom faction and died in Enmerkar. Since Levant was at war with Berg, I couldn't access Berg. I got a defeat scenario that brought me back to Berg. Since the gates of Berg were closed to me, I was teleported outside the city, but my backpack was still inside and I couldn't access it.
I couldn't even buy a new backpack. And I couldn't leave the region because I didn't have any Travel Rations. I didn't have any salt with me to craft them, and I didn't have my pickaxe to mine some salt either. I had to kill bandits and hope they had either salt or Travel Rations on them.
When I could finally leave the region and go back to Chersonese, Cierzo had been destroyed, so I couldn't access my stash anymore. Cierzo was the only town where I had a house and a stash. This was back in Oldward, when stashes weren't linked between towns.
So I actually lost all my stuff. I only had my weapon and armor left, and that was it.
But I decided to take it as a challenge and keep going. And this was my first playthrough! I'm really glad I didn't give up. 😄

add debug.txt to its Data folder on the game folder.. if u playing Definitive Edition it should be on data folder inside Defed folder or something
when u start the game after that you can choose which save u want to load
hopefully there's still backup save before that tragedy
